Adding context here. Acquired this 10yr ongoing project from burton73 after his other project, 41, was finishing up by PMB. Bob originally intended to do a V8 convert, thus the rear reinforcement structure, with this blue teener. After finally getting 41, he thought would be better If I take over with my vision of a stock looking 914-4 .
I acquired a used Raby type 4 2.3 with 901 tranny and tangerine exhaust exactly a year ago. Bob had the blue tub on a rotisserie for many years prepped waiting for reassembly with the many saved parts. We slapped on most of the parts and got engine/tranny installed to get car into roller condition. Got it ready in time for Eric and Larry from PMB pick it up after delivering Bob's 41 last December. More context. PMB transported back up to SLC 1st of the year in storm. Current status blue car waiting on build queens up at PMB. Hoping to add progress updates as received from PMB once build proceeds. Maybe done for Red Rocks Classic '23 in sept.? Well a year later and! Eric at PMB and Mark Sonners are hoping that my old car set for V8 build, and now has a 2270 RAT built Eng. from 2007 and then rebuilt by me, Mark and George at European Motor Works will be ready for Route 66 this year. Hope so! This is a RAT 180HP or so build Eric sent Mark some pictures and I am posting them. This car was a 3.2 6 conversion when I bought it without the Eng and trans back in 2008 ot 2009 from Camp 914. I had a triple master cylinder set up to use for my V8 eng set up and 930 Trans, and Eric undid all of that as well as put back the rear trunk back to when I bought it. The two-tone front and rear trunks were Eric and Marks idea. Race car body in white and team colors for the rest. PMB has done the full PMB job and it should be a very nice car. Best Bob B Burton |

Eric at PMB sent me this picture of trick (Very interesting headlights going in Marks car.)
LED headlights with halos for driving lights that also act as turn signals?. Driving lights are the same. Eric says. On the Rubber for the wheels, Eric says, "Hard to believe she has the same rubber as what’s on my 911. Actually wider up front." E's Carrera is very nice Wheels are deep 6s x15 and deep 7s 15 rear , PMB came up with the wheels Best Bob B |

Hey Mike I sure hope so. Up to PMB to wrap up blue car build and road test in the next couple of weeks. They have been working on it these last 17mos. Worst case will just have to come with just the Red 997 Targa , like always. If the stars align right will have Blue Car and my son Nick will bring Red Targa. Looks like Bob is bringing his 928 this year in any case.
See u there mark |

This is the ad from Camp914 not 10 years ago but around 14 years ago. When I bought it had more parts removed Just for everyone’s info. Best Bob B Great score/investment on the foundation for this project. I have a ‘73 2.0 in Ravenna green (but Olympic blue is my fav 914 color). Project coming along nicely! |

I bought this car from Craig at camp 914 around 17 years ago. One of our members on 914world told me he had pictures of my car before it was repainted and wanted to know if I would like some pictures. The car was found in the Palm Springs desert area. It's nice to see what the car looked like before it had been paint so many years ago.
There are so many cars today that guys are selling that have hidden rust popping up through them and then people just paint them and they look shiny and OK to the eye of the average person. They really aren't fixed up right underneath. That rust is just going to pop up later. This paint job was more than 15 years ago and it looks very good. This car was painted with a Fiberglas rear lid and I changed it out to a no rust rear lid because the FG was too thin and if you touched it, it bent under finger pressure. PMB has done some touch up but for the most part the cars paint on the panels is as it was. Best Bob B -- Marks old Friend of 60 years |
