Does anyone have a picture of the transmission ground strap installed? I am having a hard time determining where the contact points are.

You can see where it is bolted to the underside of the trunk floor in this picture. Upper right corner of the picture. (ignore the relay)Attached Image

No pic right now (i'm at work) but one end goes to one of the bolts on the end cover and the other to a stud on the bottom of the trunk floor.

The stud is above the center of the tranny towards the rear end cover. The strap is pretty short, 5" maybe ...

Thanks you all for the reply, so fast too! I am new to the site and loving it already. i have a 1973 1.7 and am finally getting back to working on it. I have installed the Bosch hot start kit to no avail. I know the starter is good so I recently discovered that i couldnt discover a ground strap. Going to try this tonight. Thanks again.

Good idea...not having that ground strap can cause some weird things to happen...one less thing to wonder about if its installed correctly.

I KNEW someone was going to say that. That picture was taken when I first got my car. You better believe that thing is clean now. whip[1].gif

I went crazy with mine and cleaned it and taped it off before I shot the Wurth. This has to be a good ground:

You can see the stud in relation to the tranny mounts better here:
