So to risk it all and to have a goal. I shook hands with my girlfriend(married 9.26.11) wife's parents, as well as a co-worker to have my car done by June 2012. I have to enter my car in a car show and be completed.
The recent PNW BBQ, the rumors were floating around if I REALLY had a 914. I've owned it for 2 years and the project was purchased as a running vehicle needing help.
I test drove the car and it ran and shifted fine. Only drove it about 2 miles max due to the left front caliper sticking and pulling horribly to the left when I hit the brakes. Yea, toward the centerline. So enough of that non-sense!
Sent the brakes off to Eric Shea for a rebuild. I got them and started the bleeding process and found the resivoir leaked. It ran down below the fuel tank. STOP, gotta fix that. But need to clean up that brake oil from under the tank.
Remove the tank and since it's out. Yea, better clean it and line it. DONE!
Along comes the Portland Tranny Clinic with Dr. Evil. So, I should pull the tranny. But since the tranny is coming out, I should just pull the whole motor and tranny. DONE!
Since those are all out. I should replace the tunnel fuel lines. In process.....
Since motor is out, I should have the engine bay repaired (battery tray and support) and painted. I started cleaning this up and found car cancer. It was a very sad day....I have been kicking around what to do since and gathering funds at the same time.
Here are some pictures of where I am at. I will start this build thread and I have 2 years or less to complete this build.
I can't lose and I don't like to lose. If I lose, then surely the gal's parents will think I'm a loser. Granted the bet is for liquor, so get them drunk on their victory and they might forget.................
pics:
Car as I bought it in San Fran:
DONE: June 22, 2012 just a few small bugs to quash, as with any 914 car.
Thanks Everyone for your help and assistance. Parts sold to me. Advice given. Now I get to enjoy the car just in time before the end of the world
Yeah right, we know that's really not your car
Good luck buddy. If you need a hand you know where to find me
Here's the Car in my garage and the motor/tranny coming out for rebuilds.
The car cancer at the motor mount
Close up of cancer:
The Battery Tray and Rust issues....not too bad. Very solid Hell Hole. Typical rust from battery acid. I have purchased the tray and support already (Thanks Dan Root)
AND there is rust in the rear trunk. Mostly surface rust, but 2-3 spot where it has gone through.....damn.
The undercoating has also started to peel away from the sheetmetal under the rear trunk. I will neet to strip this area and re-apply.
The interior needs help, but it's all there including the back pad (just not in the car on this pic) Also it has a cracked dash, but a plastic cover included for FREE.....I would prefer the felt mat approach to cover the cracks than the plastic thingy...anyone want the plastic cover?
Needed:
Carpet kit
Seat(s) cover kit
Dash replacement
Most interior gaskets/rubber
front vinyl dash cover and pad
door vinyls
one early window crank
driver's door pocket
Please notice the ignition.....a SIX. #3 for the Crandall Trio!
The Front Trunk area....needs some cleaning, attention, and fresh paint.
Rear has some rust on trunk, due to being closed on something and creating a bump. Paint wore off and since this car sat under a blue tarp it kept the moisture and rusted. There is also a dent on the right rear of the bumper. I have pushed most of this out; however, the bumper is not perfect and needs rechromed. Lucky me, my gal won a $75 dollar gift certificate at a car show for re-chroming! She wants to chrome my bumper with it......there's a joke in this I know!
This looks like it might be a very neat thread. A couple of things;
1. The rust you show doesn't look that bad, but I bet it isn't the end of it. (then again, this is a west coast car and all I know is the east coast cars)
2. The interior is rough, but luckily, it can easily be repaired/replaced
3. Make sure that this is not the only success that your girlfriend's parents know about you.
4. Looks like you are going to have a VERY nice car in the end.
5. Have you rebuilt a Porsche 6 engine before? It is VERY expensive and requires special tools and skills.
Keep going, great car, neat thread, let's see it come together.
Motor got shipped off to Bernd Buschen here in Fall City, WA. He has looked over the engine and said it is solid and built right. He has done some new gaskets and valve adjustments, etc. So not too much needed on the motor. I will need to rebuild the webers, but needing the car in running condition is probably a winter off.
I sent engine tins off for poweder coating and they are PURTY.
I plan on doing the engine mount rust, battery tray, and entire engine bay this winter. As well as the rear trunk.
I'm staying with Silver (unknown mode of Silver at this point) and will build from the inside OUT! Would love to get this in a drivers mode by next summer. I am also wishing to pay off the entire loan I have on this car by Winter of 2011. Then another loan to have the funds to FINISH the outside paint by June 2012. I will buy parts between now and then with CASH.
If ya got parts you think I need.....give me a quote and/or offer them to me.
Cupomeat: Thanks for advice #3!
Mark
Your brother told me you'll never make it...
Mark,
Consider me part of the rebuild team! I want you to WIN the bet or die trying!
We will be in touch for BBQ stuff for the WSP and RFD.
Stay in touch and let me know when you need a hand!
Stay safe Brother!
Nate
Well I had to tell him!
I have known for awhile I have a non numbers matching SIX. My engine isn't the original SIX 2.0t motor. Yea, I will have to begin the treasure hunt for it; but I'm not that concerned.
I debated in not telling 6Freak that my motor was actually a 2.2e motor! Cuz, I just kinda wanted to 'surprise' him at an autocross that there was something just a little different about my car!! It's that brother rivalry thing I suppose.
I had to tell him. It was a priceless moment! Now he will be building a bigger motor for his car cuz he can't have his little bro have something BIGGER.
Talking to my motor man and all the of NOT getting this car done by 2012. I had to explain why I was delayed. The motor man got into my car and started just taking a look to see what needed to be done. My 2.2e was a 'throw together' motor. It was the 2.2e long block, had T cams, and S dizzy. ????? It ran, but not to it's potential. We had to find a set of E cams and that took some time. We 'sniped' on ebay and got a set. They were pretty good and shipped them off to be reground. The motor is coming back together nicely and should be done by the end of Sept (funds permitting). All my car funds come from OT shifts that I work. So it's 40 hours at work and then days off 10-20 more hours to get $$$.... It is summer and I'm trying to enjoy a little free time.
So hey MIKE.....it's a 2.2e! I'm guessing we should have it around 150hp at a minumum and it is such a great 0-60mph motor!
I will work on those cones not getting hit!!!
ADVICE/QUESTION: The the black fiberglass engine cover has a small wear hole (wiring loom rub) in it. I would like to clean this up and paint the fiberglass. I need a little advice or is there a link to someone doing this on another thread? THX
WAHOOO!
I applied for a job inside my agency that isn't shift work any longer. For 19.5 years I have worked shift work of nights, weekends, birthdays, holidays, etc. Public service sometimes bites.
Well today I got offered a new position that is Tues-Fri off! I can't wait to start. Teener Tuesdays I will be all over here in Seattle.
I will have more decent hours to work on my car and feel 'normal'
I can have time off to start attending AutoX's.....which I have done one and ENJOY!
Now, I'm closer to that bet being reality.
to me!!!!! Being a farm kid, I have NEVER had a normal work schedule on ANY job I have worked. This will be awesome!!!
congrats on the job my friend
Now get to work on that 914-6!
Heat Exchanger DONE!
Performance Coatings in Auburn, WA. Same place PanelBilly is using so figured it had to be okay!
Well worth the $230 to have them protected.
Nice!
Oh man, I missed this whole thread cause the day after the August BBQ I left for a two week Wyoming/Montana camping expedition with my brother. I'm stoked you're getting after this Mark; you're a sure bet in my book.
I'm getting a lift installed on Wed. - WooHoo! - so if you ever need to get that thing in the air for some work just let me know.
Those HEs look great. Is that a Jet-Hot coating?
Cookies getting done......CHECK!
Here's what I started with....
Finished! (sorry, low quality cell camera pic) But still makes me very to see these done!
Polished so good it's like a mirror. A guy I found on Craigslist that normally does semi wheels. Charged $30 a wheel to polish....how could I say NO?!
Very nice! I like that look.
What a deal! Hows the bodywork comming? If you need a hand, let me know
yah whatever
just hope he doesnt paint his -6 Red.
Man that RS America looks hot
Oh, you 914-6 looks nice too Mike Thanks for letting me drive it last weekend
Mark, you need to come out to some autocrosses this year
anyone see the Orange 914 with the luggage rack ..it was a peach
No kidding Jeff one red six is enough I think his gonna go with silver ??dads six is silver
lol... I didn't even see my old car in there. Luggage rack?
Paying CASH as I go....no need going in debt to get this thing done.
To the body shop at the end of the month! Need to save $1400 for engine bay paint up and put the motor back in her. That requires 30-36 hours of OT.
AND yes, I have the guys number. He is going to do my FUCHS next...thinking full polish on them.
I want at least ONE Teener Tuesday in this car before next fall
Love the Cookies! I am rooting for you on the bet.
jonathan
hwgunner
Bought the BEST Shiny Part for my SIX.....
Priority for the car cash fund went to a much needed part ............I have to have a co-driver for this car.
I'm still on track to finish this car June 2012. I must still win this bet and now I have a teammate.
Congrats on the "teammate to-be"! You could have made her a ring from cut-off rusty 914 sheetmetal...I'm sure she would appreciate that.
I like the polish treatment on your cookie cutters. Very unique and eye-catching.
The BLUE dash hidden, but revealed 41 years later!
Attached thumbnail(s)
Lots of work here....let's hope I remember where the pieces go and how to re-assemble the stuff..... GULP!
Doors look to be in great shape! Excite to re-assemble with new parts and rubber. Price list to install new stuff: $488.....anyone need a kidney?
Looking Good
You asked last Summer; 2002 VW Reflex Silver
The only Silver brighter is Volvo Silver but Volvos paint
fades and peels. Go to a dealer that has Euro cars in silver
and compare.
Nice job so far Mark!
These just in from Jerry @ JMMOTORSPORTS
Give the guy a car for a week and look at him go!
Just one place of bondo
You took it to the right shop! Jerry knows his stuff. Your car will come out beautifully
Last year I was looking at silvers for my 6 and I really liked what Nissan and Chrysler had on their lots. Both are very bright. I wonder if the Lexus you like is the same as Nissans?
Oh, I went with a satin metalic silver. It looks like my car is made out of aluminum that was glass beaded.
First pictures of Paint coming back now.... Thanks Jerry!!
gotta wear shades for the *BLING*
too bad most of this will be coverd by trim.
Jerry simply does great work and knows these cars.
As soon as the TAX return comes in... I will be buying huge amounts of parts to finish this project!
Looking very good
think n the black rockers and valance`s would look nice ..like really shiny black..but then again ....
Nice work Jerry
be even better if the old man could shine his 6 up......then we could have 3 roll n to shows and the track,AX ....how cool would that be ....
That is looking good!
Now it can start going back together. You must be excided
I am very excited. I think as the pieces go back together, my bank account will go down. I have a loving wife who wants this done by this spring
She will drive it too!
I hope my wife will drive my 914 someday.
Looks Fantastic !!
What silver is that ?
when you get it complete you have it wrapped in GREEN
Color: 2011-2012 VW-Audi "Ice Silver Metalic"
Cannot wait to see the entire car done in this color. It will be a bit much until I start placing the black accents against it. I will be placing the black vinyl on the Targa Bar.
Also I will toy around with more gloss paint on the valances as well. I am a long way from having those installed....
First pictures coming in on paint on the outside....
Thank Jerry for the work and proffessional job. I will see it in person tomorrow and a fly through on a business trip to Vancouver, WA.

It will be a fun time putting this thing back together. I need to win the bet and have it done by end of June. Shooting for a tad sooner so I can enjoy the spring weather driving. PNW guys have some cool events I need to join.
Might have to have PNW Build weekend so I can just get it finished!
A work party with all those knuckleheads in Seattle. Man I wouldn't trust those guys with my car
Oh wait I already have more than once. Your in good hands my friend. I'd be happy to come up & hand you tools
Thanks Guys....I'm very excited to be at this stage. It's been a long time of ownership with only 2 miles driven on this. I certainly need more.
That looks really great! Can't wait to see it come together.
Got the FUCHS back tonight
Need to get some black paint on them....doing something a bit different on these than what is typically done. Partially becasue it will be different and mostly because the polisher didn't follow my directions very well.
So here they are right now:
I vote for blacked out centers with polished lip! The center cap looks good blacked out or polished. With your silver man that will look kick ass. Not a fan of polished wheels on silver cars. Thats just me though as I would do painted bumpers over chrome too .
Polish is done. Will paint smaller portion around lugs out to the opening. So I will do some black on 'em.
something like this.... (excuse the poor effort, but I used MS Paint to mock up)
Very nice!
Looks beautiful!!! The fun is about to start installing all your shinny bits
Im shooting for Sept. on mine and I cant wait for the painting stage
The car is now back in my garage and a few parts went on today. Here is the NEWLY painted battery tray and hell hole.
Before -------------------------------------------------> After
And my newphew Sam (6freaks son) and I ready to load the car up.
you will be lost in the garage for months now
I like that color
I'm fond of Silver though see avatar
That silver looks beautiful.
OK, I know I will be slaughtered for this, I love silver with the dark red leather interior. It is a classic combination and looks timeless. Yeah I know our cars never came in dark red leather. Just saying.
More then happy to help you get Lucky Bro
Good luck with your car, that is pressure for sure. Like to see it or help if need be since local.
The new paint looks awesome...love those before and after pics! Keep up the momentum with your project.
Any more pics / updates? Would love to see this car in the sunlight!
My wheel polisher didn't quite do what I had asked on my wheels, so I told him to stop and I wanted to do a mock up on a wheel. Crappy cell phone pic, but here's the result:
Wife loves the look, so I think I'll run 'em this way for awhile. I always can mount up the Cookie Cutters. Will get new lugs too.
I haven't worked on the car for about 6 weeks. I've been working on testing and moving up in rank at work. Therefore, reading and studying. Written test is tehe 11th of April.
I'll be in the garage on April 12th. I've already taken the first two weeks of May off, so that is when a ton of work will be done.
This sunny day in Seattle made me sad that it isn't done!
Doing some install of parts and waiting for a few in the mail to finish.
Good Times!
A bit more...
Looking good!
Also cleaned up the relay board cover and I dropped the bumpers off to be re-chromed. Will be done next week sometime. I'm thinking Cinco de Mayo will have me drinking some beers looking at new chrome.
I hope you indexed that oil filter console .....engine lid on before engines in ...other then that, shoot your kick n butt ...ya dont need me ...yet
Newly chromed rear bumper! Seattle sun pouring onto my car...BLING!
Mounted up some Nitto-Gen 205/50/15's on the custom painted & polished FUCHS. (custom because the polisher didn't follow my directions)
Got the bumpers mounted, tail lights in, and rear trunk lid mounted.
Spoiler mounted to give it a completed look and feel. Not comitted to using it. Front valence is still getting finish work.
SEE POST #109: I'm going to use the original metal valence. NOT this ---->
Windshield Installed. This gives so much character to the car and gives it a more complete look.
On task for the 3 day Memorial Day weekend:
-BBQ ribs and chicken as I install parts (low and slow)
-Clean, paint, and install valence and rockers 60% done. Just recieved passenger side. Front installed. Driver side needs fastners and oil tank finalized to be 100% sure oil tank is NOT coming out again. -Oil tank (clean area and install)
-refresh relay board 93% done, drying rubber coating-finish passenger headlight (thanks JRUST for the parts)-clean area above the transmission-install new fuel lines-install door hardware and glass-install lots of new 914rubber -repair,clean, and paint targa must redo
-install new cables (gas, clutch, speedo)
-install e-brake cables-mount up new targa 914rubber
-prep engine bay for engine
- other random items I stumble into....
-DRINK A BEER after the work is done. Haven't even had one this weekend...not sure why, just not feeling it
AND remember what Memorial Day weekend is about. Thanks to the veterans who gave their life and served for our country. I am thankful for the freedom to choose and enjoy my little 914. Thank You.
Beautiful work! Looking forward to seeing her in person!
Great build story!
Good luck getting it completed by the deadline, looks like you should make it.
John
Holy moly that is quite a lot to tackle on a holiday weekend. Love your car.
AND remember what Memorial Day weekend is about. Thanks to the veterans who gave their life and served for our country. I am thankful for the freedom to choose and enjoy my little 914. Thank You.

AMEN BROTHER
Okay this is what I am going to use....>>>
I really like how it looks
Glass is in too! Along with new padded dash vinyl.
Figured, WHAT THE HELL, I would hide a couple 2012 signatures for the next person who gets the car and they can post about the unusual signatures they found. Why not? It won't be seen and if ever stolen, I can put the word out that my name is on it.
So I painted the trim and I got to the TARGA. The inside looks awesome and I roll it over to do the outside. Figure it will look as good as the inside. NOPE..
It got all splotchy (if a word) and I can't seem to figure out why. So I will have to redo Dang it, not very often we get such a great weather in Seattle. Here come the clouds and rain for multiple days too. Grrrrrrrr
I did get 914Rubber's front targa seal in okay and it lined up great!
endeavor to persevere. who did the bumper rechrome? local? did you have the dash pad recovered or find a good used one?
k
Thank you for installing the stock steel valance; it looks 1000% better. The only alternative that I wood consider is the LE valance as it looks nice too.
The steel front valance is on my six now and that is what will go on it when it is done too.
I think I could be sort of morphing into a Pat G. weenie as I tend to like the stock look on these cars more and more. NO, I am still not painting it gold and it's still getting a 3.2. I am pretty sure even if I had the stock case sitting in my shed (I have a '71 six case that is 30 serial numbers off) I would still put the 3.2 in it for the sheer joy of driving.
Loving your car and really starting to like silver a lot more.
Finally got the fuzzies done and then I could finish the doors. What a task. I did one door wrong, but replicated the way it came to me. When I got to the driver door, I figured it out the right way. DOH! Nuff said.... HERE's the car and the work I got done in two days. ONE more day tomorrow to do more things.
.......................I'm shooting this with a basic digital camera. The silver is tough to capture.
That is not rust on the bumper, but instead a reflection of a pine cone that is sitting infront of the car.
Nice; is it the angle of the picture or is that fog light not straight? The lens looks as if it is turned in the casing.
your car looks fantastic. jerry sure got the job done and you seem to have mastered the whole reassembly process. you'll be motorvating in no time. did jerry shoot the valances and rockers too?
k
You should have said you needed a rear valance also.
I had one taped to the front one. Could have sent them both.
Nice buddy. Now you need to get some cone marks on there
Excited to have the car at this stage. It makes it look like a real car when it has an engine/tranny!
JRUST helped as we did this over at 6Freak's house. RhodyGuy stopped in too! Thanks everyone!
I believe this is Dad's 914-6
Monterey 1990
Attached image(s)
Silver looks fantastic.
Thanks Rich....
I'm looking for a few misc. parts to finish this up.
Needed right now is a shift boot that attaches to the firewall and protects the front shift rod joint. Looking for a picture to show as an example. This is for a tailshift car.
That conversion is looking so clean it makes me ill.
Whoops, i just read the title of the thread as it being a build up of a 914/6 (as in conversion)....maybe that's why the car looks so 'right'.
Changed the title..... Coming to the end so it really is a "Build-off". I will enter this in a car show June 24th.
Worst part is I am stuck in Florida until Saturday so I can't do work on her. I am relying on my Bro, 6Freak, to help me. He has finished installing my tank and misc items. I will have all week to get it running. But regardless, it will be presentable for Sunday even if not running. Is that cheating?
Good times.
Been a busy couple of days. The interior is the biggest and slowest process...
Here is the dash. A few final cleanups to finish or tweak, but it will work to get me through this weekend.
Door panels tonite! And replace that crappy shift knob by a noob. Install pillar post trim too.
Longest week in history and very little sleep. Worked on the car each night this week until way past my bed time and worked at 5a each day. The result is the car is DONE.
We will attempt to start it tomorrow after we make a couple oil lines, check fuel lines, and double check our work.
I hope she starts!
Such a sweet build! Off to bed for me after a very long day. Perchance of seeing my car done this year! l
Can't wait to see a VIDEO of the car starting!
I got a text it runs! Just waiting on that video
It started! A big THANK YOU to Bernie and Scott Buschen who worked so hard today at getting this thing running. Their efforts sealed my victory to win this bet and have my car completed and entered in Sunday's Car Show.
6Freak and I worked all this week until late in the evening all this week. THANK YOU.
Finally, thank you to all members here who jumped up willing to sell me parts, loan me items, or give support. I could not have done this with out the generosity of those who sold me parts.
Dr. Evil's tranny rebuild clinic was finally tested(done 3 years ago) and I must say it shifts like a dream.
Teener Tuesday? I'm now in!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lkgnd9JHeKo
I knew you could do it....FREAK N AWSOME....Now go win your bet Bro
Sweet !!
Wow! That sounds good!
Gives me more motivation, thanks!
Oh man listen to the noise that thing makes....nothing better. Nice work and congrats on meeting your goal.
Wow that sounds so nice. I am confused though as you are driving it down the road there is something that keeps crossing the windshield....what the heck is that?
CONGRATULATIONS!
Sounds GREAT!
Looks GREAT!
There is a hint of sunshine today ... go drive it!
Cheers,
Eddie
I will be at the Shelton Car Show tomorrow. Parked at the clock tower if any PNW guys can make it.
I'm going to drive it right now!
Congrats on the build. Never been a big fan of silver - but that looks great! Sounds even better.
Maybe there's a flat six looming in my future somewhere - I sure hope so. Gotta love it.
ENjoy
Congrats!
Great job 242! I knew you would make it! Car sound great and runs great.
Enjoy the show!
first run. first shower. it poured rain here yest. i imagine when the clouds stacked up against the olympics it was REAl wet in shelton.
k
Made it to the car show! Got it prepped and had to take some pre-show photos.
Didn't win anything in the classes I entered ( Best Sports Car and Best Import)
However, I did win the Participant's Award. This was voted on by all those who entered a car in the show.
put a rear valance on that thing, it looks like your dragging yer ball sack!
Nice work buddy
Mark,
That is looking great. Good job and congrats on the award.
Tom
That is freaking awesome! One of these days, I am going ride in a six and see what everyone has been talking about! Sweet!
Looking forward to seeing a rear valance on that puppy.....
Its a Cinderella story!
You won the bet and won an award.
Look how rough the car was when you started.
Congrats!
John
I added FINISHED photos to Post #2. I stole the idea of the a photo looking straight down on the car from member: ANDYREW. Epic view....Thanks I am so happy with the color. It is tough to photograph and get the true impact of the paint, SILVER Rocks...just sayin.
Need to work out some 'bugs' with the car now; i.e. driver's inability to interpret the fuel gauge. DOH! I ran out of gas the other day. However, it was cool to look into the tank to be reminded of the nice lining I did 3 years ago. Turn signal issues, dim taillight (passenger side), sensitive headlight flasher switch, faulty temp sending unit...etc. All relatively easy things to tweak or repair.
The Dr.Evil tranny clinic shifting is amazing...even with a tail-shifter. The clutch cable requires several adjustments since it is new and still stretching.
Oh yeah...modify the fiberglass rear valence to cover my 'ass end' and that Triad. Thanks Cairo94507 for the sale. Markb sold me some air deflectors that will help with cooling and air flow under the car once the valence is installed.
Now if Seattle can get some decent weather where I can drive this car...PLEASE!
Interior BEFORE
Interior AFTER
Sport type mufflers look so much better IMHO
Your Six looks Great, I agree nice weather is overdue.
Attached image(s)
I dumped off 3 different mufflers at rohdyguys today, pick em up and try em.
stock
sport muffler
bursch/turbo muffler
Looks very nice Mark! Congrats
We saw you drive down Arcadia past Walker Park Rd in Shelton the other day and I could see from a distance that a very nice 914 was going by! I think you saw us, I was driving my green 73 1.7.
I Had no idea about your build until I found this thread yesterday. Glad I know the whole story now .
Eric
Autocross this weekend
Spent a cool fall evening with my daughter who loves riding in the SIX. We had a nice drive on some rural roads, but we just couldn't pass this milk shake drive inn.
Neat shot !
Just found this....
Beautiful car.
Maybe I'll get to see it in person one of these years....
Gorgeous...is this the car you were considering selling? Good thing you didn't if so! Man that thing is RIGHT ON.
Very nice car Mark
Now don't just show it! Get in and
Looks great. Nice work.
When do we get to see a Crandal family photo?
No, not you guys The family 914-6 photo?
Are you going to try the different mufflers, This Summer ??
Nice Photo and car.
Bottom pulley came off/loose and I lost the fan belt. Got a little hot, but worst part is I am now on Jackstands for the repair.
Working on a your car is great therapy. Glad Seattle is getting rain soon, so I don't feel like I'm missing much.
SIGH....WCR is not going to happen for me as a result.
I had the repair done since I was rear-ended at work 20 year old HS drop out I'm sure was texting or something. Tweaked my back pretty good...He's just lucky it wasn't in the 914 or I'd be asking for help in hiding the body.
With a tweaked back I took the car to Shelton, WA for another round in a car show. I didn't win any awards this year; however, it was nice to have the car looking good and sitting among some nice metal.
FYI, you can get snap-in chrome plugs for those front bumper holes.
I found these for my bumper, in the Fasteners section at Home Depot: Look for the 'specialty' hardware, a section/module with stuff in pull-out drawers. And keep looking, these parts are really scattered & disorganized no matter which store you're in). Just a minor suggestion, for an otherwise fine looking car!
