Our friends Garrett and Patricia have once again offered their lovely home and 'yard' for a BBQ. Those who attended last year's event are probably still savoring the flavorful grub, friendly people, special cars and lush display grounds. Those who missed it are probably still kicking themselves - here's your chance to make amends.

You don't have to bring a 914 to attend, but it's highly recommended. Any Porsche will do, even donor cars 
. Actually, vintage iron of any flavor is encouraged.
Food: BBQ Chef Extraordinaire, Mr 242 is bringing his megamagic Binford 8000 and a menu of meat specialties to prepare. The menu hasn't been finalized but I think we can count on Atomic Buffalo Turds among other delicacies.
We should go potluck style and have people bring another dish to share; salad, dessert, casserole, chips, etc. Please let us know what you'll likely be bringing to share.
Suggested donation: Same as last year; $10 per head to cover food and portapotty rental. If you're cash tight, don't sweat it; it's more important that you show up.
Here's a group shot from last year. This was taken right before the food was ready - it was the only way we could herd this many teeners into the same picture.

Don't want to get over-organized for this, but if anyone has ideas for activities, etc., chime in.
Unofficial head count: I'll list all the people who say they may attend. This is just to get an approximate number. If you're listed and can't make it, let us know. If you're not listed and can make it, let us know. Also, give us an idea of how many people you'll be bringing with you. See you there!

If I bust my hump, the Podi may be drivable by then. I'll be there either way. Put me down for about 4 fatties for the grill. Might be able to put some pulled pork together too.

I'm in, it was great last year and this year I can even drive a 914 to the BBQ!! My wife and my daughter will very likely come too.

Ok, this might sound a bit odd, but if it's got 4 legs, I'll eat it. The wife's prize goat herd had a few too many boys this year. It's a breading herd so we can't do much with them other than eat them. So now I'm sitting on a couple of hundred pounds of goat meat.

Is your 914 up and running? Last I heard you had a bearing issue...
I was just outside trying to get the parts car running so I can do an engine swap next weekend. I have the timing off but will still try to pull it running or not. If you're in the neighborhood stop by.

Goat meat is amazing. It is also one of the best meats you can eat. I'd be all over that

I'm not going to make it. I was hoping to make a weekend out of it & take my son to a Mariners game like last year. They are away that weekend of course. I know they are playing like crap but it is still fun with my son. I may make the trip up for the John walkers swap meet on the 13th. Then head to the game after that 
. Or I may just not make the trip up at all.
Either way have a great BBQ

We're just over a week away from fine feasting! Are you ready for some great food and 914s galore?
We're updating the head count so we can get enough meat for the grille. Here's the list as it stands today. If you're on it and can't make it, let us know. If you even think you might make it, let us know.
Last year was such a great time with Mr. 242s magic on the grille and all the salads, desserts and side dishes that people brought. Let's do it again!

If you head West on 196th from I-5 once you go down the hill into Edmonds there is a gas station (I think Shell) and a Pizza place. It is right next to the Pizza place.

Talked to Garrett this morning about some logistical details. Looks like we're in good shape for shelters, tables, etc. He indicated it would be great if we could get a few guys together for a light work party on the grounds.
So, does anyone want to have a Tuesday Teeners on Thursday at Garrett's? No real heavy lifting, just make sure everything is ready to go for Sunday and then maybe adjourn to the pizza joint next door for some dinner.

I'm going to be there in the afternoon to cruise around on the riding mower. Time would be pretty much whenever you could make it. I guess anytime after 5:00 would work.

I am going to revitalize the American mayonnaise industry. Yes. Such is the patriotism rampant in this American. We will fill the nation’s swimming pools with the purest domestic variety, and then drown the entire congress in it. I personally will tie cinderblocks to them.
My love of country is great: I will use no Chinese mayonnaise.
That said, I'm sure there's some goodies happening which we have no idea of on the left side of the state.

I will only have the BinFord for the Que instead of the new trailer.
I'm going to do Pulled Chicken sliders like I did for the tranny re-build (not everyone does pork) AND Ribs.

I'm being taken to Port Ludlow or how ever it's spelled for the weekend. I'm hoping to be able to join in but it may be late. Won't have a way to bring turds this time, so if some other fool wants to jump in and bring these, I'll share my secrete methods.

Start time for the festivities is 2:00ish with face stuffing to commence between 3:00 & 4:00.
Rohar - Mr. 242 will have the Binford fired up in the morning, so if your fatties take about 3 hours, you'd want to get them on the grill by noon or earlier. How's that sound?
Let's talk logistics and potluck :
Like last year, the grounds will be reserved for German and other classic iron. If you're arriving in more mundane transportation, you can drive in to unload and then park across the road at the elementary school.
We need someone to bring plastic utensils and napkins - and not the cheap, fragile stuff. Break out of the CSOB mold and get some forks and knives that won't break off in the salad. Who wants to take that on?
Atomic Buffalo Turds - PanelBilly will take you through the recipe that is certain to make you a star at any backyard BBQ in the future. Who will step up to prepare this delicacy?
Other suggestions: Roasted corn, BBQ beans, potato salad, fruit salad, desserts....you get the idea.
I'll be over at Garrett's tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) to do some preparation work on the grounds. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome. Give me a call at 4two5- two55-two556 to coordinate.
Weather for Sunday looks awesome. We'll have some shelters for shade, but don't forget to bring chairs. Don't miss out on the Binford Magic. It's gonna be great!

Thursday update - No work party/Thursday Teeners at Garrett's today. Just talked to G and he said they are all ready to go for the weekend. So no lawn mowing, clean-up, etc. is needed.

Rohar - Mr. 242 will have the Binford fired up in the morning, so if your fatties take about 3 hours, you'd want to get them on the grill by noon or earlier. How's that sound?
Let's talk logistics and potluck :
Like last year, the grounds will be reserved for German and other classic iron. If you're arriving in more mundane transportation, you can drive in to unload and then park across the road at the elementary school.
We need someone to bring plastic utensils and napkins - and not the cheap, fragile stuff. Break out of the CSOB mold and get some forks and knives that won't break off in the salad. Who wants to take that on?
Atomic Buffalo Turds - PanelBilly will take you through the recipe that is certain to make you a star at any backyard BBQ in the future. Who will step up to prepare this delicacy?
Other suggestions: Roasted corn, BBQ beans, potato salad, fruit salad, desserts....you get the idea.
I'll be over at Garrett's tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) to do some preparation work on the grounds. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome. Give me a call at 4two5- two55-two556 to coordinate.

Well yes but now, while trying to adjust the 4th gear the motor has started acting up with a crazy vibration! I suspect the flywheel is coming loose again. Don't count me out, I now plan on swapping out the motor and tranny from my parts car to try and get it running by tomorrow. Anyone know a good 914 mechanic? I'm getting the feeling the one I'm using doesn't know what the hell, he is doing! Keep posted for more gory details!

I'll be there as promised, but it'll be through force of will alone. Just got home from Boise and as soon as I sat down the agent told me to be ready for an offer on my house tomorrow so I can't crash on the left side of the state as planned. Worse, looks like the dog sitter fell through so the beast may be coming with me. She's mild mannered and loves to sleep in the truck so shouldn't be a problem.
On the up side, looks like a bigger house (and shop) is in the near future1

Wish I could make it but, training calls. Today we walked 18.5 miles and my hips are darn sore. It took 7 hours with rest stops. I have to do 15 more tomorrow. Much as I'd like to see you guys, the couch is going to be my best friend.

10 hours of driving to make it to a BBQ. About the time I hit Sprague on the way back I started to question my sanity, but it was a momentary question.
It's good to drag my ugly arse over there and see you guys every so often. I had a great time.
Oh, and Philip, I didn't have much of a chance to tell you. Your conversion got me into these painful and amazing cars. I saw yours on the internet years ago and immediately bought my first.
A big thanks to the hosts, wonderful people! Thanks also to the pitmaster, he let me put my fatty in his Binford if you know what I mean

However, all the pictures in the world couldn't do justice to the angry wail of Jeff Hines' GT clone reverberating through the neighborhood. Spine chilling. You truly had to be there.
A special moment......our host Garrett gets a ride in his pristine 914.

914s turned out in all the colors of the rainbow
It wasn't all 914s, there were some other 4 cylinder Porsches
It wasn't even all Porsches but this Brazilian Puma is air cooled with a VW Type 1
This was taken before the food was served. Imagine how big their smiles were afterwards

It was a great day; NW sunshine, fine food, fine folks, fine cars. the pictures barely do justice to the beautiful setting our hosts Garrett and Patricia provide. We are truly grateful to them.

I'd be there again. Medford was a great spot. Nice cruise roads, good hotel and the track was the best.

and Fruit at 9:14, then a nice drive up the twisties. Artist Point is not
openned this year but the road is cleared up to the View Point just above the
upper Ski Lodge.
We would even allow Bikes and Pumas to join in. Let me know. Troy
