I have a 1976 2.0 Djet with was purchased new in California. It came with the catilitic converter, air pump and speed limiter but have all been removed. Is there an issue with the wiring harness having nothing plugged into the speed limiter conection. Do I need to do anything?
no, just leave it unplugged unless you want one as I think I have one in my stash
The "speed limiter" is actually a rev limiter. They cut the fuel (like modern cars do) instead of the spark so that you don't get unburned fuel dumped into the exhaust, potentially killing the catalyst.
Leaving it unplugged simply means that there is no rev limiter on the fuel. You can still install one of the spring-loaded distributor rotors to cut the spark when you spin the motor fast enough if you like.
