What I want to know is:
What is a venous stick?

I have to say that you look pretty good in those scrubs. I would let you change out my bed pan any time

What I want to know is:
What is a venous stick?
.....in order to do our procedure we have to put several sheaths (little tubes) in his femoral veins......yes that is in the groin, and when we take them out we have to hold
pressure over the site to stop the bleeding.
So to answer your *next* question.....
yes I was holding pressure on Jim's groin
Lisa

Between that and some good drugs....one could say that Jim's day wasn't terrible.

A-fib is no fun! My dad had mitral valve prolapse and was in a-fib for a few days. He felt like total crap. Glad you're getting your signals right Jim
Lisa, what a cool story! Thanks for taking care of him, and us all, and for sharing your story.

Today? That's usually a same-day up here. What did you use? He looks pretty awake. Must have been versed, propofol, fentanyl... I can't believe you have never met Jim in person. He comes to everything on this side of the country. In a plane if not his car. Great guy! Glad you fixed him Lisa...

Thanks for the well wishes I just got home an doing some work on the car. Lisa was terrific, what a surpise. I first met Lisa at the 2005 WCC when Howard organized it, then seen her a few times at Joe Sharps. Mrs K is the one without the bunny ears, Arron Cox on left, and Jenny on Right
It's hard to explain, but waking up was the highlight of my brief stay.
Thank you Lisa

Why would that be hard to explain Jim? Most people who go in for a 'procedure' secretly worry they wont wake up. You woke up to Lisa. That, doesn't need explanation. That would be the highlight of most of the guys days here.
Posted by: r_towle Aug 29 2013, 06:00 PM
Lisa, what a great way to wake up....
Would have made me a happy guy and a much nicer patient on my last few times under the knife...
You look awesome in scrubs.
Great smile on both of you, though I prefer Lisa's over Jims...
Glad everything went well.

.....I've know Jim since 2005 from WCC or perhaps even earlier at one of Joe's BBQ's
And he looks awake because he was.......after his general anesthesia wore off!
This was a cryo ablation procedure to cure him of his Atrial fibrillation. The patients who undergo this type of procedure have to be asleep so they don't move......we are ablating (freezing) the the 4 pulmonary veins at the junction of the Lt. atrium. One false move or breath could be BAD.......he did great!

So is safe to start the rumor that gave Jim a Happy Ending? Sounds like Jim is pretty happy. The ending is what made him happy = Happy Ending.

I've know Jim quite a few years and what many do not understand is what a full on "BAD ASS" this guy is. He's not one to let a little atrial fibrillation get him down. Good job Jim. Thanks for taking care of him Lisa. We all miss you.
Cheers, Elliot
