I'm trying to figure out how to get one.
If I sell all my other toys, I'd prolly be half way there. Dunno what they're gonna cost.....60-70K would be my guess.
All I would then need is one spare set of wheels & tiars.....no more wall to wall shit cluttering up the shop......sigh. I'd have to get some gold chains.....or better still, fake ones. I can deal with a green neck.
I need a plan.......
Ok, I fear I am probably the only one who doesnt know what you are talking about, but just in case, could you enlighten me? What is an ought 6?
Z 06 vette?
Stinkin' Detroit iron......er, fiberglass I think. He's been welding too much. Fumes got to him.
Well, I guess he could be talking about a new 06 911?
What? a 996/997???
Forget about the stickies too, or they blow themselves up....
IF you gotta go new, do so in style and get a Boxster...
That new Boxster S is very nice. It is my new dream car.
J P, you been sniffen FG again? What is an ought 6? Auuut 6, uouot 6? Inquiring minds want to know.

OK, now we all need to know, it's not the welding or FG, it's that aircraft paint remover. Maybe we should send the para medics before the last brain cell stops bouncing around.

You can become a carjacker and get anything you want!
Seriously, new Z06 is just a just bit awesome. 'Plain' new 'vette ain't all that bad either for less than Boxster.
Rumor has the new 7 liter 06 at the mid 80's and a huge step up from the old cars. A true 200mph car.
My only hope a lucky lotto ticket.

That's right, the new Z 06 Vette.
A 7 liter, titanium rodded, dry sump, 500bhp (and more gee-gaws), Porsche killer.
80k? ...Ok, no gold chains, and 1/3 of the way there. It still works.
I was on a ride today and at the stop sign a black version of this beast pulled up, he went down the road in first and let it wind up... much sweeter than a V8, and I love V8's.

This engine is a 7 litre small block that cubes out at 427. Is it possible to build a 7 litre "small block" without over heating problems? And where is and how much does the oil tank located/hold?

JP, you just can't. Friends don't let freinds buy (new) cars with push-rod motors. If you want an ought 6 I recommend a Remmington.

Oh man... that engine NEEDS to be put in a 914... Who will be the first?

Mikey, some of us don't need cars for that Guy in my office bldg gets new Viper kick ass coupe. I print phony CA plate 'PPXTNDR' and tape it on. He's backed into parking place and doesn't find out until next day. Was a bit pissed. Wonder how he knew it was me??? And BTW, Slits and I are the only ones that can pick on Scott |

If'n I had my choice of Deeetroit iron, I'd pick this one over the pigge of plastique: http://www.brothersperformance.com/newsletter/MustangGTR/

Ah, Cap'n Rice speaks....
The 06 weighs 3150. What does that fatback Mustang weigh? A stocker comes in about 3450.
ah, new rustang.
Saw a white one last week. Of course it had a teenage girl driving it, talking on her cell phone, then wrapping it around a concrete light pole.
fitting end.

It's a V-10 "concept car".....sure, kinda cool..... the motor is a 4.6L with 2 more clys....you do the math. That's a mighty ricey wing. It'll never even limited production.
Now, had you said the Ford GT, you'd get no argument from me. It's a real live car....like the Z06 but I "might" be able to afford the Vette.
Messing with other car owners heads:

Corvette... A plastic Penis for those who don't have enough of the real thing.
Lately I have heard one called "Fiberglass viagra".
Anyone want to buy a Rec 74 Corvette with an L82 and automatic transmission? I got one for sale. I am sick of the pig taking up a space in my garage that could be put to better use.

The new Vettes are pure performance, these things fly. They lack the fit and finish, they rattle, they are cheaply put together in comparison to new Porsches but cost a fraction.
I'd like to have one, but I sat in one and i didn't fit.
That killed it for me.
I'd drive a yugo before I allowed a mustang of any kind to park in my driveway but that's just me. I absolutely hate mustangs, and fords for that matter. I've owned two fords in my life (one mustang, one ranger, both total POS) and will absolutely never, ever, no matter what ever own another ford or allow an immediate family member to own or drive one.
My boss has a Shelby 350 set up for SCCA and i have to bite my tongue every time he talks about it.
Not sure why I hate em so much, just one of those things I guess.
All very interesting. I love cars, and pretty much anything else that runs on dead dinosaurs. Yugo? You bet. Let's get 2 and race 'em. Corvette? Mustang? Big 'murican truck with big mf'n tires? Taildragger? Viper? Huge RV with jacuzzi? One of them funny eyetalian cars than ends in 'I'? MV Agusta (OK, will settle for a Duck)? How 'bout the new V series from Cadillac?
I wouldn't throw any of them out of my garage. Now all I need is a bigger garage and lots more $$.
Any of you guys want to donate any to my collection?

Vette's just seem too big for my tastes. I rode in an 85' once, rattled worse than any 914 I have ever been in. Rode in a ZR1 once, quick car, felt heavy though. Rode in an 81' once, same thing, rattles, heavy and this one was underpowered. Some of them look nice and some don't. Too big for a sports car. More of a GT car IMHO. Wouldn't buy one and if one was given to me, I would sell it before even driving it.

The new (2005) vette is actually lighter and shorter than a new Porsche 997, The roof on the vette is slightly lower too!
