QUOTE
Porsche is heading back to its sporting roots with a new 300bhp coupé and, this week, Autocar can tell you how. The new C7S, hitherto known as the Boxster Coupé and the GTS, will endear Porsche, a company whose production is now dominated by the Cayenne offroader, to a new generation of driving enthusiasts.

Packing 300bhp and stiffly-tuned suspension, Autocar can reveal that the C7S will be powered by a 3.4-litre flat six, and will cost around £50,000 when it arrives in the UK later this year. A cheaper and less powerful 3.2-litre C7 will join it, as well as a more focusses C7 Club Sport to appeal to the real hardcore.

I love it. I hope the rumors are true about the RS version.

Arrg. It needs a removable top section ala Targa.

They lost me at £50,000. IPB Image IPB Image IPB Image IPB Image IPB Image IPB Image
This thing should cost $50-60k, not 100.
I want it. Baddly.

IIRC, the UK versions typically have a 4-5k lb premium due to the right hand drive conversion, AND there is to be a lower hp version.
I love it...it's sexy! IPB Image

Looks hot. I'll be interested when I can buy a 3 year old low mileage example for around $30K.

I like it, but it still looks like a 911 from a first glance. I guess I'm old school, I liked it better when you could tell them apart from a distance. What do I know, my next toy is going to be this Lil Guy from 1978 IPB Image

Very sweet car! I can't see the pricing being too far off of the Boxster. 300hp in that thing would really move. I bet we'll never get the RS version in North America, if it does happen.

Looks cool, I would love to have one, can't swing the $$$ though. So I guess I will put a 275hp six in my 914 and KICK ITS ASS when I see one on the open road. IPB Image

so, when's the Detroit Motor Show?
They're supposed to unveil it there.
Curious what it will look like for real
Ya have to hand it to them... the boys in Stuttgart sure know how to keep a secret IPB Image

Nah ... that coupe looks perfect just the way it is.

Just wondering what it'll be called, since "Boxster" is a collision of words ("Box" from boxer engine, "ster" from roadster). Boxoupe?

Maybe 987C, 987C-S, & 987C-RS?

The press day reports are saying that the "new car" being premiered by Porsche is the 997 Cabrio, not the Boxster Coupe. :-(
