The guy I'm buying my 914 from has a set of new 930 Turbo tie-rods. Is this a worthwhile upgrade? He wants $120 for the set.
Thoughts?
Great Upgrade, Good Price!
Whats the intended use for your car? non turbo ties rods are fine for street use providing the rubber bushings are in good shape
for a track car yes its a good upgrade
You decided on a car? which one?
Excellant upgrade. I can't remember anyone saying you won't like it.

OT-xitspd; Are you in Hemet too? Lets see a picture of Larry's Glamis Toy.
The turbo tie rod upgrade is definitely worth doing. All my 914s have had them.
You can do a little better than $120, however.
Excellent! It was my choice of the three listed. Hope ya love it as much as I love mine. Take lots of pics and post them when ya get it, but take a nice long drive first. Oh yeah, get the turbo tie rods, but ask for installation instructions here before you do it. Not that difficult, but there are a few tricks.
Great upgrade. Steering will be alot more precise...be aware that you'll feel bumps in the road and other irregularities alot more as the "cushion" from the stock tie-rods are not there.

Went with the car in Rockford, MI. (#1 from my post.) I found someone to go look at the car and he reported that it was everything I needed...it'll be here tomorrow afternoon. =) |
Got them in my car, feels a lot tighter, precise would be another word to describe the change, I paid a bit more than 120, so if you don't want them I will take them.
how about a pic of your new car...
all the best
