Texans at a NM ski resort? Yeah, like that ever happens. IPB Image

Just kidding. Actually, we've had quite a bit of snow. Conditions should be good.

$1300. GT Racing.

What else would you like to know?

Your car is really coming along.
I can't wait to see this thing complete.

Posted by: xitspd Jan 17 2005, 09:11 PM

Very nice, Very Very nice!!! Did you get your mufflers from Patrick? I bought a set of his mufflers along with his headers for my 914-6 3.6 project. I am going to have my headers slightly shortened and the flanges of the mufflers angle modified upwards for a proper fit . Did yours fit OK without modifing? Do you have the throttle and wiring set-up from Patrick for a 3.6? I bought those as well, but went instead with 50 MM Webers and Electomotive crankfire. I want to sell the parts. Hope to see the car at the WCC.

I'll be at WCC with 914RS.

Mufflers and headers are from Patrick. No mods necessary.

I used their throttle cable, but set it up in a different way. I also got the wiring harness, but ended up taking it apart and redoing it so it fit my car exactly.

For me, having the factory fuel injection was an absolute priority. I promised myself that I will never own carbs again.

Joe,

Nice looking -6. I really like the way the roll bar/cage seems to be installed from the couple of pics above. Can you add another pic or two on the roll bar (how you have it situated inside the targa bar) and the rest of the cage?

Thanks.

Posted by: jr91472 Jan 18 2005, 09:47 AM

Let's see if I have this right. You live in paradise, work maybe 10 days a month flying your little Lear to exotic places, and build that gorgeous car with all your free time.

Please post pictures of your perfect wife, kids, dog, etc. so we can really hate you IPB Image

The tubing doesn't really constitute a 'cage'. It's strictly there to keep the engine from folding the car in half.

Here's an overhead shot. You have to look carefully, but you should be able to find the reinforcements running from the front to the back.

I painted the headlight surrounds with Krylon Purple.

OK, I deserve that. It's fixed.

What you missed: 'amoung' in the title. If I could fix that without deleting the thread, I would.

I need to type a little more slowly.

Since I bitched about spelling previously, I have to hold myself to a higher standard because there are people waiting to catch me.

There will be a web site developed after the car is completed in April.

Alright, settle down.

I have about 25'x25' of grass in the back. The dogs like it and it only takes about 5 minutes to mow.

So there!

No, the gophers, you....

Posted by: Travis Neff Jan 19 2005, 08:34 AM

At least you didn't do a border in the front with green colored rocks to resemble grass, you get that down here in the retirement areas. Hell, I had rocks in the yard too, but it kept the kids away when I fired up the mower..

Got a little more finished today. I made filler trim for the doors to go in place of windows and seals.

It was easier than I thought (except for the hand polishing IPB Image ).
