I am the coordinator for the 2005 Georgia Tech Auto Show and have owned 5 914's in my life so far. I drove a 914 to school every day when I attended Ga Tech. I still own two.
Here is a summary of the show:
The 2nd Annual Georgia Tech Auto Show will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2005. Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, alumni, and corporate sponsors are invited to display their interesting cars, trucks, and motorcycles of all types and conditions. General Motors and Ford Motor Company will both be bringing pre-production vehicles including the Ford GT and the Corvette C6 Z06. The designer of the Ford GT chassis (Huibert Mees, GT MSME ‘89) will be the guest speaker at 3pm. The general public is invited to view the event free of charge. For registration and more information see the web site:

I also listed this on the events portion of this forum.
That would be me. Graduated in 1993 from School of Aerospace Engineering.
Unfortunately, it is a bad weekend for me and I cannot attend. I'd love to bring the Elise.
Maybe next year I can bring the Elise and the finished 914-6 GT conversion.
Regards,
Karl Ellzey
Fantastic!! I knew there must be some Ga Tech grads out there with 914's besides me. I have been trying to get in touch with Bryan Mattern who is a Ga Tech computer science grad that has a yellow 914 V8 conversion.
Hey YPAF! Unfortunately, not when they are on jackstands with the front end and cylinder heads removed. I'd love to bring it by, but would have to tow it!
I hadn't driven my car in a few years. Last year, I decided to get back into things and I ponied up for the Renegade radiator kit and other goodies, and have been building things like I originally wanted to when I did the conversion. Bit off a bit more than I can chew, but I hope to finish in a few months.

we need to get all the atlanta guys together for a breakfast or something soon...
I agree with trying to get together and meet some of the 914 owners in the area. It might also be a good idea to post and announcement on the Peachstate PCA webpage (http://www.peachstatePCA.org/). There is a section there on members' cars and I'm sure that some of them would bring other Porsches out.
I am all for some kind of get together...maybe a Saturday lunch or something.

I suggest that we meet at the Donut Derilicts car gathering that happens every Saturday morning at the Dandy Donut shop in Chamblee. I often go to view the cars there.

We could pick a particular Saturday morning to meet there.
I think I will be there tomorrow morning to hand out flyers for the Georgia Tech Auto Show.
But, I am up for meeting just about any time!
I'll see you in the morning I'll have on my 914 club hat and a bright orange car.
Bob
I was thinking about driving over myself.
Any of you guys thought about taking a ride to Hershey for the swap meet? I'd really like to go but it would be a lot more fun with a couple of other folks along.
My best friend went to Tech and had a 914. His was the reason I bought mine.
His rusted in half behind the KA house in about 1981.
Mine is in the garage.
Bob, Greg, and Bryan,
We missed you guys this morning.
I was there early at 8:30/ 9:00 am saw a few cars and then went to a friends to pick him up and come back, but got busy on another project. How many cars showed up. There was a 66 shelby and a mid sixtys red corvette and a couple of hot rods when I was there. I didn't drive my 914 when I left Athens it was 35 out. The heat in the truck won out over the 914. I'm sorry I missed you.
Bob
My son and I got there really late. The GT350 was still there along with a couple of other cars. Sterling (two914s) was there and he and I had a nice conversation. He is doing a lot to pull together the GT car show in a couple of weekends and it sounds like its going to be great. He mentioned that you had a really nice orange 914 (flared, I believe). Maybe when it warms up a little, we'll try it again. I live in Loganville and would really like to see your 914 sometime.
Had some family things to take care of today. Will try and make to the Tech show to meet all of you guys.
Bob's 914 is indeed beautiful! I saw it at the http://www.oxblue.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=914v8hooters. Very well put together and looks really sharp. Somebody mentioned another one but I'd be happy with just another 914 get-together.

To Hell with UGA!
I am up for meeting any of you at the Dandy Donut car show. Just suggest the saturday. I dont go every Saturday.
The Georgia Tech Auto Show was a failure because we didn't have a single 914 present.
We did have a 1960's Ford GT40, a 2005 Ford GT, the Corvette C6 ZO6, about 8 ferrari's including a 2001 F1 car, 1961 Rolls Royce, pulse-jet rocket powered go-kart, twin turbo Pantera, lots of tail-dragger Porsche's, 1957 Ford Thunderbird, and lots of other cars owned by Ga Tech alumni.
Here is a video edited by a student named Chris Dos Santos (turn up your speakers):

I am planning to go on the Ga Wine Mountain tour tomorrow morning, so maybe I will see some of you there.
Bryan Mattern, I want to come see your car very soon. Lets get together now that I am no longer planning the show.

I'm another GT grad with a 914, CE'78. Didn't know there were any others out there. A get together would be fun.
Don't know about driving mine to Atlanta. It is barely street legal. no heat and a full roll cage. It is at Road Atlanta this weekend. My friend and mechanic is "testing it" at the PCA DE there.
Miles, I now know what's wrong with you.
Sooo, how many teeners have signed up for the show?
I have a sister-in-law and a couple friends who graduated from Tech. Plus I'm a loyal fan of theirs (not so much for Chan Gailey), does that count?

Oops, I failed out of Ga Tech my freshman year
but everything worked out in the end. Southern Tech (Across the street from AA) took me in and I never looked back.
The 914 is still on jack stands but am trying to work on her 4 hours a day till done. I will definetly come see the show and participate if i'm allowed.
Paul
I signed up. Contact Two914s and he will send you a guest invite. I'm a GSU alumni, so I'll come and raise help raise their standards.
I registered for this show, but have not heard anything back from the coordinators. Is anyone else going?
The PCA club race is that same weekend at Road Atlanta or I would be there, too.
There will be a Silver, Chopped top, Germanlook bug there with RAT power and a DTM with 944 suspension and brakes...
It's a car you just have to see to believe!
and more than likely this one as well...
