914World.com _ 914World Garage _ The time has come

Posted by: Jeff Bonanno Apr 12 2005, 03:20 PM

Hi all - you read it right, I have to bail on my 914 project(s).

Since you are all pretty busy getting ready for the WCC, I'll make it short:

I am moving from San Diego back to NYC and can't take the 914 stuff with me.

I am giving it all away FREE to club members but I cannot ship (no time to do this!).

I have 1 complete but largely disassembled '76 4 2.0 d-jet and one '76 tub. The tub is in decent shape except the usual hellhole probs. The engine is in longblock form, ran well when pulled. I have two complete d-jet FI systems (only one MPS and it is rebuilt).

Any club member who can get to my house with a suitable hauling vehicle can take as much or as little as he/she wants. You have ~1 week - at that time I will have to clear all stuff out of my house and get ready to scram!

I will be logging on periodically to answer questions. please call, pm, or email me for other details:

anyone in the San Diego area who has a trailer, I am now asking preemptively for a hand hauling the carcasses to the scrapyard...I can remunerate with cash, beer, etc.

Thanks,
jbb

Aaron, you can kiss my A$$, you suck!!!! Jeff, I will take everything else including the tub. PM me and lets talk. Sorry to see you go. In fact, if it is first come first serve, I can be down in about 2 hours with a trailer to haul it all away.

Scott,

You are next in line for anything else in my garage. Well, Flat VW has asked for some 2.0 d-jet parts but you only deal in V8 stuff, right?

I'll be home by 4:30pm tonight - i'll pm my cell number to you.

Tim,

i will be in town 1st week of May. if you will put me together with your friend, that would be great. i won't have my own place until we get through the sale, search/escrow, etc, but a garage is on the list of things which 'would be nice'. we will be looking in brooklyn.

Sure! I'm not gathering parts mind you.
Only things i might need.

A rear trunk lock, no key necessary.
better dash pad is on my list
tubes coming off the heater blower motor
tail lights?
hmm....

not really sure what else, but i'll bring beer if it will ease the pain.

Tim,

I'll call them (and you) when I get in.

we just got pre-approval for 800K which prices us out of most of manhattan (for the duplex we want). prolly have to go as far out on the L line as B-wick or A-C to Bed-Stuy - should be fun.

Where are you going to work? in Manhattan?

I drive to NYC every day ( though one of the outer boroughs) Have you thought about NJ, or Westchester county? or Connecticut? there is public transport from these areas (Metro North etc)

And out where I live in Nassau county you could get a handsome place for 800K

Park Slope, Bkln heights, Boerum Hill, Williamsburg are happening places in Brooklyn, but finding a garage with your place may be hard. In Queens Astoria is good..

not sure if your serious about Bushwick or Bed Stuy, though they are improving...

Then there is Forest Hills, Middle Village...

Heck I know people that communte from the Poconos to NYC, and out on eastern LI

And flipa.gif Slits.. Ive been to Big Bear its a nice place but doesnt have a thing on NYC

Hi guys - last night was a gas! Scott, Aaron, Brandon and I knocked around the garage until about midnight or 1am. When all was said and done, i was smashed and half the place was cleaned out (with the possibility for another half).

I had alot of fun - if any of you get the chance, hang out with this crew!

James, not sure it will come to that but stay tuned...

Tim, unf. I was serious about the Brooklyn neighborhoods. My wife has been pricing 2 - 3 family dwellings and they get up there quick. Any suggestions for people in realty to talk to?
