914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Panasport 15X7 rims for 914-6

Posted by: 9146R Apr 22 2005, 03:50 PM

Looking for second set of rims to mount hi perf wet/dry tire on. Wondering if any members have used these ? Any problems encountered with them ? What price range for 15X7 and what offset on them ? Any feedback appreciated. These will be used for street and wet autox. confused24.gif

Panasports are great wheels. They are fairly light, strong and I think they look great. They are kinda spendy, but I have them in a 4x130 pattern. Not sure what 5 lugs would cost. I can vouch for the quality of mine....

forgot, I think mine are 4and 7/8" backspacing, but if you have flairs, re-check your calculations

I like Panasports. The nice thing about them is that you get the 911R offset which allows a 7" rim under a stock fender.

I really like them too (had some 15x6's a few years ago). However, I still think I'd go for Fuchs if the Panos would be substantially more $$$.

What are the 15x7's going for these days, in the race version?

I believe they could be ~ $200 each (from another website) vs cast (imitation) Fuchs at $75 each in the 15 x 7 size. Original fuchs aren't cheap today however.

The thing is, original 15x7 Fuchs in the 911R offset go for like $2000 per set.

Yup, I was mainly comparing vs. 'normal' 15x7 Fuchs. I haven't checked lately but they are probably in the $200/ea range for track-quality wheels, or maybe less. (Friends don't let friends use Faches.) It is hard to find sets of 4 7's as most guys selling 15's (or 16's) seem to have 7's and 8's.

I scored a pair of NOS Panasport Minilites 15x8 a couple of months ago. Going to mount them on the rear with a set of 15x8 Fuchs on the front with Potenza S03 Pole Position for track tires on the Turbo GT.

I just solt 4 of these for 800 bucks with the Hoosiers.
4 Cookies with Hoosiers for 400 bucks. Cookies are a pound or 2 a wheel heavier that the Fuch. The 2 odd balls are also gone

Chris is right, finding 4 15 X 7 Fuch is a bitch.
IMO, Cookies are the ideal track wheel.....cheep, light......ugly biggrin.gif

I have a line on two sets of Cookies if anyone is interested. They are the early offset.
