914World.com _ 914World Garage _ My sheepskins are faded!

Posted by: STL914 May 10 2005, 07:47 AM

I have a set of gray sheepskins for my seats that have become quite faded due to the effects of the sun.

Has anyone tried to dye a sheepskin cover with good results? How about with bad results? Any ideas as to
how I can do this or is it best left for professionals?

Thanks,

That is so 80's, I had them in mine back in the 80's they were so soft. They are like human hair and can be dyed as such. Good luck.

They're not fading, just gradually returning to their "natural" color.

Try some Hair Color for Men . . . ? And blend it away . . .

Skline's right! The only way to die hair, or wool in your case, is with a permanent die and hair color works best. Use the stuff that won't rub off on the pillow.

I'd love to see you at the register with all those Lady Clarol boxes . . .

Luck,

TC

Hey Tom, what do you think wives are for??

I never thought of hair dye. Might work. Wonder if I could
use peroxide first to remove the color and then redye them
to match my interior?

Thnks guys... smilie_pokal.gif
