anyone user this stuff in their teener? i'm thinking about putting it behind the backpad on my V8car. anyone have experince with a certain brand? pros/cons

Just installed B-Quiet sound deading in the 914. They have a wed site and was cheaper then dynamat. Car not running so can say that it does its job.

I put Dynamat extreme between on the firewall of Betty's car in place of the rubber pad. Lowered both the interior temps and the sound level.

I used dyna-mat extreme on the floor & firewall covered by dyna-liner on the floor and extreme-liner on the firewall.

Huge improvement! No more tinny-ness in teh cabin, able to converes at all speeds, etc. If I didn't have those two big webbers out back sucking birds & planes out of teh sky I probabaly wouldn't be able to hear the engine at all.

I used one of the online proce comparisson services like Nextag and was able to get the real Dyna-mat brand for about 50% off MSRP from two vendors. One of teh vendors ended up being Crutchfield, the other was a tuner co. I remembered at the time but do not now. Regardless they were both legit businesses I had heard of in the past, the price was right, and the product as promised.

You'll need some 3M spray adhesive, tube of weatherstrip adhesive, a wooden roller burnishing tool, and a sharp utility knife to do the install. Easy to do, no worries.

Fat Mat is the same thickness and costs quite a bit less. Search on E-bay and you'll find what you seek

I used to use it when I did stereo installs. We would line the doors with it to stop rattles. The stuff we used had adhesive on one side. We used it on custom boxes sometimes also. It really deadens the sound. I will be getting it to do the firewall and floor in the Chalon. It doesnt add that much weight.

If I'm reading it right... bear with me, I'm not real bright but he put dynamat extreme on both the firewall and the floors.
Then he put a second layer of dyna-liner on top of the the dynamat on the floors...
and a second layer of extreme liner on top of the dynamat on the firewall.

I don't know if the product has changed, but back a few years ago I outfitted a beetle with the stuff and it sure did reduce the noise, but after a year I found that it was cracking and a good deal of the dynamat was actually loosing cohesion. I have used the dynaspray which also works well except for the fact that I don't think I ever had a can that was 100% empty, since the nozzles always failed or didn't work from the start.
