914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Porsche 935 info wanted

Posted by: djm914-6 May 29 2005, 11:40 AM

I need as much information as I can gather on the Porsche 935 race car. Please tell me what you know. I'm building a museum quality RC car based on a vintage 1/8 scale pan car I bought from a fellow 914club member. I hope to start the build once I get through all of the shirt orders, but a friend will be starting on the motor very soon.

Need Pics of engine, interior, exterior, suspensions, etc (engine building starting buy a friend ASAP)

Specs on engine available at the time

color photos for body build (I think I'm leaning toward the Martini scheme, but could be persuaded otherwise)

Any info, links, or pics will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

(ps, the model will be sold at upon completion)

Oh, I've already save a bunch of pics from google. After this guy said he'd build the engine, I started looking (as opposed to working). Still don't know squat about the motors and such.

You are going to love looking at the motor.

i have always been partial the Vaillant scheme, but if it's Martini you want, you need to narrow it down a bit because they changed configurations frequently. i have the Road & Track road test issue. lots of pictures from their appearance at the 1998 Monterey Historics. 1:43 models. and as you can tell:

i've been up clos and personal with a few...

I like the more '80 looking colors, like mauve, and green, on silver.. DP.

That pic is pretty cool. Gee, maybe I'll do something like that with the 914.

So Rich, you gona scan a few pages for me? I really don't know squat about these cars, so any help would be appreciated. I know some had a single turbo, while others were twin. Some or all had water cooled heads.

I'm looking for a car that will sell "well". I figured the Martini is the most recognised race team and thus a best seller.

Ohhh, could ya... PLEEEEAAASSSSEEE? pray.gif

BTW, if anyone is interested, I'll be documenting the build here: http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?t=197500

Like I said, I'm not starting my part of the build untilol I dig out of my paint hole, but the motor builder will be starting shortly. I'm thinking about building a rolling (RC) cut-a-way model. One side will be a solid paint scheme and the other somewhat see through will full details.
