Does anyone know How the gig In San Diego is going for Brad?

Posted by: Bleyseng Jun 12 2005, 09:29 AM

Brad who?? confused24.gif

Posted by: Lawrence Jun 12 2005, 09:35 AM

We all hope that Brad is doing well in his new endeavors.

However, he's indicated to members of the Admin team that he no longer wishes to be involved with 914s or the 914club.

It's news we've had for a couple of weeks, but we weren't sure how to discuss it openly.

We do wish him the very best and appreciate his past service to our community.

Didn't mean to sound harsh. I know Brad has been through more car business related sh!t than most of us will ever experience in our lifetime. Personally, I feel bad for the guy. I know he is a decent man.

We have always stuck by him and worshiped him with 914 guru status.

When his most recent problem happened with #4 - we all stood by him - supported him, defended him, and even put together a fund drive for him to help him make bail.

Now... we find out this way (through some random post) about his departure.

I know there is probably more to the story (there always is), but I think we all would respect his decision and continue to respect him if he would have at least posted a departure note to us all.

You know... something like this...

>>To my fellow 914club friends.

It is with great regret that I let you know that I will be taking a leave of absence from the 914 community for an undisclosed period of time. While I appreciate your support and friendship over the years, I have, unfortunately had to make this difficult decision for my own health and happiness.

I appreciate what this community has become and all the support and kindness you have shown me during recent months. Many (most) of you, I have never met in person, but you treated me like a brother...<<

Oh Fuch it!

Good luck Brad!

Posted by: Lawrence Jun 12 2005, 10:37 AM

Yeah, that would have been the classy thing to do.

I can't comment on the specifics, as I wasn't one of the Admins to speak to him directly. When I learned of the things he told other's on the Admin team, I pretty much threw in the towel with Brad.

At one point, Brad deleted his own account and asked Andy to delete all of his posts. We chose not to do that and we restored his account in "member" status.

Most of you know that I don't pull any punches. IMO, these are the actions of an ungrateful bastard. EDIT: I'm discussing the actions... not the person. We'll tolerate no personal attacks.

But maybe he'll be back when he needs more money for legal bills. dry.gif

I spend lots of time here as is...I couldn't imagine how much time I would have to spend online if I were asked questions about obscure parts/fixes. (PS. I don't know anything, please don't ask! smile.gif )

The club would have probably taken up too much time for him, so he needed to make a cut to concentrate on his new job.

I did not get the chance to meet Brad personally. He did take the time to reply to a PM I sent him that was not P related and I felt it was considerate of him to do so. I am under the impression this forum was his brain child and have been impressed that it is so successful. I contributed to his legal fund based on all of the support he gave to this forum and the 914 community. Hearing about his abrupt departure from 914world.com and the 914 community is disappointing to say the least. It would have been nice if he had said his goodbye more along the lines suggested by Carl. It can be difficult though for some people to express their goodbyes when they are saddened buy their own departure. His participation here will be missed and I wish him luck in his new ventures.

Posted by: grantsfo Jun 12 2005, 12:24 PM

I can understand Brad wanting to get a new start on his life in Southern California. I think most of us gave to the legal fund with no strings attached and no expectations. He was a great resource while he was part of this community and gave me input that truly helped me with my car. I'm just sad to lose a good 914 resource like Brad. I wish him the best of luck!

Posted by: ematulac Jun 12 2005, 12:36 PM

I wish Brad well whatever he decides to do.

Sometimes the information highway can really be information overload. If I had to take a guess, I think Brad just needs to take a break. Even Jake took a break ... check out his last few posts.

Just my .02.

I spoke with brad on the phone on friday and he sounded good. We were going to visit his shop, but we were stuck in almost 2 hours of traffic, so we missed him sad.gif

He did a lot of great things for the 914 community and it sounds like he's moved on for a while. I think we should be happy for him he got such a good gig.

(I hope Brad reads this)

Brad Roberts has arguably done more good for the 914 community than any other single individual. He always gave and NEVER recieved. For all the many hours he donated to this community, $10,000 bail money is a pittance. He owes this community nothing, but we owe him a lot. If taking a fork in the road is how Brad needs to deal emotionally with his life I wish him only the best. Anyone who had a problem with that is being selfish. Let him do what he has to do and wish him well. And be willing to welcome him back with a smile and pat on the back if he decides to join us again.

Take care, Brad.

Best Regards,
Ben M.

I'm sorry to hear this. I had a great time meeting Brad at the WCC, and I appreciate everything he's done for the 914 community. I have a feeling he'll be back. I don't think anybody can leave the 914 Club for good.

I think change can be good for people.... but a "good bye" to friends is good for friendships. A simple goodbye is not unreasonable, considering the group of friends here that stood behind him.

Posted by: GWN7 Jun 12 2005, 05:20 PM

I talked to Brad for several years online before meeting him in person at the WCC this year. I'm sure whatever reason he decided to leave was the right reason at the time.

He has Narp rust in his blood and when he decides to join back in the madness here, I will hand him a beer.gif

Without him and the others behind this place we all wouldn't have ever met (even if it's virtual meetings in some cases).

Brad if your reading this, good luck and see ya later...

Hey gang, when you're up to your ass in alligators it's sometimes hard to remember you only started out to drain the swamp....Brad has had a "rare" couple of years with everything that went on, cut him some slack....Yes, it would have been more comfortable if he had said goodbye, and he still may when he is ready. I can't believe that he'll walk away from these cars and the people who love them forever, I think he just needs clear air and the emotion of a goodbye can be tough....he has a good heart, in my opinion....we'll see him again when he sorts his shit out...give him some space. My .02. And Brad, if you're lurking, what are you doing for blue rags now......take care. We'll miss you...

I did the same thing (10+ years ago) when I had 3 bad years in a row. Lawsuit, got ripped off and a marriage that went south. My solution was to buy a 914! Boy, another stupid thing to add to the pile of bad mojo. So I really just disappeared and changed the company I kept, like a new beginning. Actually, it did work and now my old friends are back in my life along with the old.

Well other than the good old common courtesy of a "hey headed out, shoot me a Email if you wanna get ahold of me, cause I'm not checking this site anymore."

I'm hoping its a miscommunication. And that in reality perhaps he said "Gawd, I'm slammed, burned, wasted, and shit is out of control. I'm going to be back burnering the Club, I'm not coming on there to check anything for now, we'll see how it is in another 6-10 months."

How big are you? I'm 6'4" and I can fit in my 914 with the backpads taken out. You may also consider taking out the backpad and moving back/modifying the sliders? And a smaller steering wheel?

I guess if youve already decided you cant drive a 914 you've thought about this, I just hate to see someone give up without doing a little smash.gif first smile.gif

6 foot 10, 350 pounds. Only some of its fat!

I bought a Tenner a bit ago. I pulled the seat, sat on the floor boards, back against the firewall, and still hit the steering wheel with my knees with the clutch in and gas to the floor, with my head was about a inch from the roof.

I should have joined the WWF Andy. I bounced at bars for about 10 years though, kinda like the WWF without the speedo. I don't wanna do the speedo. Looking back, as much as I would have made in the WWF, I should have done that.

ed i have an idea, with a suby engine in the car i could move the firewall back about 5 to 8 inches ( basicly the rear glass even with the rear of the targa ) .

also with a smaller steering wheel that was tipped up a little more, and with the column shortened about 3 inches do you think you could fit

as for hieght by moving the seat to a tilt with the room gained by moving the fire wall i think you would fit.

for the pedals i think it could be adjusted to give another inch there too

let me know, i would be willing to do the labor you just pay materials

lots of good smash.gif blowtorch.gif welder.gif sawzall-smiley.gif you could be driving.gif

Why would anyone think Brad owns US squat! Listen, I started that bail money post. If you sent in money expecting something in return you need to re-think your priorities. I did it because he would have done it for any one of you guys or gals if the tables were turned. Any number of the people that hang here have benifited from Brads selfless generosity. he's gone though some crap that would turn some of you to jello. Brad knew nothing about our rally week and actually was a little humbled by it. He's been trying to move on for some time now. Let him be.

Come on people now Smile on your brother, Everybody get together try to    one and other right now,,,,

Was there ever a public Thank you for the support we raised for him? I just figured I missed it .

I don't think anyone thinks Brad owes us anything....

Brad's loss is sad because he contributed much to this board. I hope his decision, like many that are made in the midst of horrific events, will be re-thought when things calm down. What is he now doing?

Posted by: Joe Sharp Jun 13 2005, 09:28 AM

If Brad started a thread that he said good-by in it would have gone to 16 pages, shut-down the site twice and been deleted in 4 hours.
I wish Brad good in what ever he does.
I would like to thank him for what he has done here, I'm sure I'll run into him somewhere.

ed i have an idea, with a suby engine in the car i could move the firewall back about 5 to 8 inches ( basicly the rear glass even with the rear of the targa ) .

also with a smaller steering wheel that was tipped up a little more, and with the column shortened about 3 inches do you think you could fit

as for hieght by moving the seat to a tilt with the room gained by moving the fire wall i think you would fit.

for the pedals i think it could be adjusted to give another inch there too

let me know, i would be willing to do the labor you just pay materials

lots of good smash.gif blowtorch.gif welder.gif sawzall-smiley.gif you could be driving.gif

Thats a rightous offer Scott. You might be onto something.

I'd never considered trying to move the firewall back. Does a Subbie have that much room?

I'm into porsches long term. It might be another 5 or even 10 years before I act on this idea. I got time though. I'm not ready to jump on a project like that right now, but I'll start researching what needs to be done with that.

Thanks for the idea.

Goodbye Brad. Best of luck in your new life. (not ment harshly!)

In a way, I understand Brad's desire to put away the 914 part of his life. After my last accident in the VW beetle, I desided to remove those cars from my life and have no association with them anymore.
(Dont EVEN start on the VW/Porshe relation thing! I'm talking about the friggin beetle and my experience with it!)

The guy that built my last VW 1776 motor is constantly buggin me about getting involved with them again, even after I asked to respect my wishes about leaving them. It bothers me that he continues to be persistant.
Maybe one day, but not right now.

I find that situation similar to Brad's in that he has mentioned before about 914 repairs not making his ends meet, and then with the most recent stuff.

Anyway, last verse same as the first.... wavey.gif

if the radiator was put in the front trunk yes it could come back 6 to 8 inches at the bottom and 5 inches at the top more if the engine was moved back 1.5 inches like a chevy conversion is done.

what i would do would be to move the whole fire wall back about 5 inches, except the center tunnel area that way the shifter and stuff would not change. the the engine lid would just be the mesh area, the front section would go away. would be real tight to get in to but it could be done... i mean how often does a suby need to be touched

However, he's indicated to members of the Admin team that he no longer wishes to be involved with 914s or the 914club.

I'm giving Brad the benefit of the doubt until I hear his words. Dang, some of the comments here would make we wanna piss on this and move on. Somehow I would guess the most negative comments are coming from those who know him the least.

I have nothing but respect for Brad because of the knowledge he has shared with us.

Having said that, I do wish he would state his true feelings and situation before disappearing. The mystery thing is not healthy for anyone. Put the truth out there. Put it all out there.

Maybe he just needs space. Maybe it's nothing. Even if it was the worst, I'd rather be told to f-off than have some hidden rust developing. I hate speculation. If we don't hear from Brad (or at least a message from him through someone he knows) then we do need to just let this go.

It's like a shop not wanting to waranty someone else's work. Sure, it's damn inconvenient that he decided to pick up and move to San Diego and stop all relations with anything remotely 914, but I have confidence he will come back up and finish work on my car. I've been kinda out of the 914 community for a while. Although I am starting to look for another teener. Brad was a huge help to me when I was restoring mine with his knowledge & parts. He was also invaluable as a reference when settin up the 1st PNW914meet. He even made it up for the last one I set up. The turn out wasn't as good as the first 2 but he was cool with it. Drove straight up to little old Monmouth Oregon & straight back down when it was over. A good 20+ hours of driving. I honestly wasn't around & know nothing about the problems he's had the past 2 years. I know he was always a help to me & I'm forever greatful. I wish you the best Brad aktion035.gif & as most everyone here we hope to hear from you when you can. Good luck with your new start. If Brad has decided to take a break, or whatever, there is a reason for it. Brad has been into 914's LONG before he and I met, so if it is "quits", there has to be a VERY good reason for it.

Some of you guys can be a bunch of ASSHOLES!

For someone who practically started this online community, spent countless hours repairing cars for free (minus some beer), assisted several people at autocrosses without even driving a car himself, responded to posts with actual technical know-how and pictures, and is an all around good guy...you people are slamming him down like he is the opposition in a political battle. I am also surprised how many people here who I thought were his friends are not adequately standing up for him. For the rest of you who hardly know him or have never met him, unless he physically did something against you, you have absolutely no grounds for such comments.

Does he owe this online community anything? Absolutely NOT! He and a couple of other great people on this board started this place on Christmas Day 2002. He has been around supporting it and helping it grow to over 3000 members and he doesn't owe us a penny for it. So what if he doesn't want to be involved with it anymore. So what if he chooses to leave it for a while. I have seen several people here take a break from 914's for an extended period of time and nobody asks why.

Does he owe the people who contributed to his bail fund? Again, absolutely NOT! He got wrongfully acused for a crime that he did not commit. It just happened to be that it involved a certain 914 that several of people here found interesting for one reason or another. If you contributed to his bail fund thinking that you were supposed to get a payment back or a personal call from Brad, you misunderstood the fund's purpose. That fund was to help a fellow club member out of a situation that the rest of us feels he shouldn't be involved in. There are several fund drives for a whole slew of people and situations on this board that many contribute to and are involved in for a greater purpose.

Should he come and "check-in" to explain what's going on? Hell No! On one hand it would be nice if he updated all of us on his wear abouts, but on the other do we expect an timeline of the events going on in his life. What if he had been asked to step away from the clubsite for legal reason. Who cares if he is involved in taildraggers or is hanging out with the wine and cheese crowd. I bet there are several of us who own these cars that wish we had the money for a kick ass 911 or was friends with a bunch of money guys...not everyone is like this nor does everyone want to be.

I have know Brad for 10 years now and I have seen him do things for people he has never met, help people who he knows won't pay him a dime, and go out of his way to accomidate others. A couple of years ago he left his well-paying job in the tech industry to pursue his passion in Porsche's, a road that has been a rocky one to say the least. I know that he is now getting involved with something that is closer to his goal and is starting a new life. I am confident that once he gets settled in, he will drop in to see how we are doing. There are people here who will miss him, others will be glad to see him gone, and the rest will never know the difference.

It is my recommendation that an admin lock this thread before it continues to spin into a bashing session until those who are being bashed have a chance to speak for themselves. Brad has an admin account and can add to this later if he wishes.

Folks... the bottom line is that Brad does not owe any one on this community anything... period. Clearly the debt is us for him. many of the tidbits and information he has provided freely are the things that many in the industry use to earn a living and we got this information by starting a thread.

Many of us that have come in direct contact with Brad, owe him for his unselfishness and when we were in need. I for one owe him for helping me get my car back and running this year.

Brad... if you do read this message... all the best in your endeavors... may your future be smoother then the last several months have been. I still owe you a dinner... it is the least I can do.

I now think it is time to let the man ride off into the sunset... he will return if he wants to and when he wants to.

I have a tad bit of understanding of what Brad is going through with and I do think that many people are giving him a hard time while he is going through a harder time on a much more important scale.

I have gotten a bit of the short end of the stick from Brad as well through this period of time (nothing the forum needs to know about) that he vanished but I will say that I cannot blame him for the disappearance.

To be quite honest I have gotten tired of forums myself, tired of making posts to share information that end up starting brawls and tired of my knowledge being second guessed and then stolen by some worthless son of a bitch that also steals my products and sells them.

The days of free information are over fellas- I did it for 7 years and all it did was land me in a melting pot of bullshit with stolen ideas, information and products.

So, don't be giving Brad hell for leaving or doing whatever he has had to do to keep his head above water. I am out a bit from his actions and lack of communication but i feel confident that as soon as he is capable he will call me up and make it good- and I'll bet he will do the same for each of you as well.

From now on my information will be sold- not posted online and I DARE any worthless son of a bitch working from his garage to steal it and call it his own. Be thankful that you had guys like Brad and myself at your disposal until we got smart!

This is really unfortunate.

Jake, if you can discount whatever you're going through with stromberg.gif I would hope you'd see that you received something from the forums as well. I would hope that maybe you got a few customers, made a few business contacts, or maybe just some friends. I'd also hope that maybe you had to repeat the same information a few less times because someone here said "Search the archives, it's been discussed and Jake commented on it." Perhaps you got to answer questions when you wanted and had a few less phone interruptions in your day.

All of the above might be bs.gif and I'm way off base. I've never run a business and I know I tend to be an idealist. If I'm wrong please don't tell me, I like living in my world of perfect circles. Regardless, thanks for all your input. I would love to buy an engine from you someday for a project that's been on my mental to-do list for a number of years now; and I can't imagine what you'll have accomplished with the Type4 by then.

And then there's Brad. This is going to sound like a eulogy, but I miss not having Brad around. For the past 5-ish years we've lived within range of the same radio stations. We've shared more than a few meals together where I got to run an unending stream of stupid ideas past him; he would tell me that he's heard or seen most of them before and why they did or didn't work; but he always encouraged me (and others) to keep thinking and trying to come up with something new and cool. He let me come up to his shop and help him (i.e. learn from him); and he helped me with my projects. He gave me parts. He introduced me to Rich Bontempi as his friend, I could easily have met Rich on my own but it means something more to be introduced by a friend, as a friend.

And while I'm at it, here's a nice side-story. Rich is often at http://highperformancehouse.com on Saturdays until 2PM selling parts and for quite a while Brad was there helping him. On occasion we'd go to lunch afterwards; this was another benefit of being Brad's friend, casual dining with a nationally ranked race car driver. One Saturday I was up there without Brad for some reason and we end up doing lunch as we had a few times before. At some point for some reason I (playing the lead role as Dumbass) start spouting off about being tired of Brad's bs.gif, making promises and not delvering, blah blah blah. Rich looks at me squarely and says "well I'll tell you what, I think he's a hell of a nice guy for helping me out every Saturday and not asking for anything in return." I don't remember much of the conversation after that. I just had this feeling in my gut that I may have just ruined a friendship I obviously didn't deserve; and that I had never really understood my friend in the first place. If you're reading this, I'm sorry and wish I had said it sooner. There are other stories but you get the idea.

Bottom line, Brad's already forgotten more about Porsche's and racing than I will ever know (and he's younger and better looking!). If he has a fault it's probably that he gives too much of himself (as long as we're delivering a eulogy we might as well go for sainthood). If anything I'm jealous that he's found what he was meant to do with his life and he's doing it, while I'm still trying to figure that out for myself. Keep it up, it will pay off (I'm the idealist, remember).

Personally, I think leaving the 914club for a while is a good thing for Brad, and for his sake, I hope he doesn't return any time soon...

Yes, he could have just said goodbye before leaving
Not because he owes any of us an explanation (or anything else for that matter), but it would have prevented a thread like this to raise it's ugly head
I guess Brad's just weird that way...

I consider Brad a friend (and I don't consider many people that) and honestly hope things will work out for him for a change.

I don't know WTF is wrong with some of you guys. Most of us as adults have been through difficult times and have needed time away from things to get our lives together. Every single one of us should have some degree of empathy with Brad. We should all be able to look past his actions and feel compassion for a friend who's going through a difficult time. Everyone reading this thread should be thinking of how they can help a friend. By his actions and some hearsay Brad wants some space. Cut him some slack.

You guys remind me of a teenage boy who just got dumped. What good does an explanation from Brad do anyway? Do you guys need it to satisfy your curiosity? No one has a right anybody else's motivation for an action unless that action causes them harm. So who's going to stand up and claim to be the first person harmed by Brad walking away from here? Live with it!

Let's enjoy what we have the way it is and go on.

The sun's shining, my 914's shining, I just wish I could drive it. sad.gif In due time...

Wow. The depth of the support here is unbelieveable. We may get in petty arguments that seem really important at the time, but they usually blow over. Everyone helps a member in trouble, and that's why this board is different.

Brad will be back. How could anyone stay away? beerchug.gif

Wow...

I'm not a 914 owner but joined so that I could contact Brad after working with him in the .Bomb days. I just poked back in today to see how he was doing since he disappeared mid-conversation (was just before his arrest but I didn't know about it until coming here today).

Of course I was pinging him to see if he'd kept his skills up and maybe he (or Lyrissa) was looking for a DBA/SysAdmin job at the company I was starting.

Brad didn't know me, and I didn't know Brad (aside from reading his informative posts here).
I asked him a few questions trying to understand the how/why/what of getting my 915 to shift. Not only did he take the time to answer my questions, he invited me to come by HPH on a Sunday when he would be installing the engine/transaxle in the Tube-car so I could see the WEVO unit first hand. I made the trip to Redwood City that Sunday, met Brad, and Britain, and the tube cars owner (sorry, forgot his name). After getting my questions answered and getting a first-hand tour of the transaxle, and the options I hung around chatting about Porsches and racing, handing these guys the wrenchs they needed and trying to stay out of the way.
I ended up spending the whole afternoon so I could hear that beast fire up. After helping push it into the trailer Brad offered for me to join them at dinner. That afternoon really cemented my appreciation for this community.

Brad, I hope your current and future endevours bring you happiness. Your contributions to all of us aspiring 914 nuts has been fantastic. Thank you. pray.gif

Jake,
I have followed your postings with great interest. You have helped me to better understand the type IV and some of what goes into building a good one. I'm very sorry that your generousity has resulted in difficulty. Some day I too hope to install one of your engines. Until then I will have to hope that at some point you choose to continue your contribution to our understanding of these unique automobiles. To you too Jake, Thank you. pray.gif

To everyone who has contributed to this forum and to my better understanding the issues involved with these rust-buckets, Thank you as well. beerchug.gif

IF you wanna say Hello to Brad, keep your eyes open for MoM to visit a racetrack near you, then go and say Hello!

re: Brad saying good-bye,

- would it have been nice: Yep
- mandatory/necessary: Nope

I think IF you take a job with an organization that also Races cars, which MoM does, and your passionate about Racing as Brad is, then you better put all your effort into that.
Maybe there will come a day when he'll have time for somethin' else....
whether that's this Club or a relationship or just a big glass of Ice Tea.... confused24.gif
I'm sure when he feels like he's got the time, he'll check in on us.

Hey guys...I spoke to Brad today and he says that "no way" has he abandoned the site or 914's in general. He just has a lot on his plate right now that he has to get straight and the site isn't at the top if his list right now. I, for one, can understand that fully.

He needs time to get his priorities and other things together, but you will see him again...no worries.

i've stayed off this site for a couple days because the way this thread has gone has really pissed me off. (michael, this clearly wasn't your fault, it is evident you were acting in kind).

but some of you guys have been acting like you just found out the tooth-fairy wasn't real -- and others of you have just been plain dicks.

lawrence, i don't know you and don't wish to disrespect you, but you've got no business talking about him as an "ungrateful bastard" or saying that "maybe he'll be back when he needs more money for legal bills." don't write that shit and then tout how much integrity you've got.

it's enough already. let the man live his damn life. he doesn't owe this community ANYTHING. does everyone hear that? he doesn't owe us ANYTHING. if you've got a private/personal issue with him, by all means, take it up with him -- in PRIVATE.

Anyone think of this...Maybe we will get a "new" member with almost as much knowledge as Brad has.
And maybe he will help us out when we really need it.
Maybe in time all will work itself out, but for now he has left his mark here and his posts are still all on the server for us to archive.
Good luck Brad and thanks for everything. aktion035.gif

Posted by: mihai914 Jun 14 2005, 09:03 PM

Some people should think about it...

I don't know Brad but heard plenty of people relating to him. Can't you just let the guy go in peace??? Does anyone think it was actually that simple as saying, I'm leaving and don't want to do anything with the 914 community any more?

It's a personal decision, I for one wouldn't go saying out loud my PERSONAL factors of making some decision like that.

As for the fund thing, all I can say is that if you lend a hand to someone always expecting something back in return, then stop doing it.

Finally I believe that most are pissed because there will not be anymore a easy way of getting through car troubles. Some of you will actually have to put some thinking in resolving your car problem instead of calling the lifeline...

What would happen if the Cap'n and DD and others alike did the same, you would all of a sudden have to open some sort of book and manual and read, wow that must be so difficult!

First Friend of Brasky: Bill Brasky is a son of a bitch! Do you fellas know Bill Brasky?

Second Friend of Brasky: Hell yeah, I know Bill Brasky! He's a big fella, goes about 6'4", 280. He loves his Scotch!

Third Friend of Brasky: He does! He's a hell of a salesman!

Fourth Friend of Brasky: To Bill Brasky!

Together: Bill Brasky!!

Third: Did you know Bill Brasky is the godfather of my son?

Fourth: Bill Brasky?

First: He's a big fella!

Second: Oh yeah, he's a big guy! Goes about 6'7", 385.

Third: Well, anyway.. he shows up at the church in his golf pants, caked in mud. Well, ol' Bill Brasky pushes the priest aside and says, "I'll baptize that piece of calamari!" Then he pours Scotch all over my baby son and says, "There! You're baptized!"

Fourth: And your son is blind to this day!

First: Yeah, he makes brooms somewhere in Georgia, doesn't he?

Third: I have no idea. [ pause ] To Bill Brasky!

Together: Bill Brasky!!

Second: Did I ever tell you about the time Bill Brasky sold me into slavery?

First: Well, if you're talking about Bill Brasky, I believe it!

Second: Oh, yeah! He puts me on a ship to Thailand, right? And I'm chained to a pipe. Meanwhile, ol' Brasky, he's back in the States siring three beautiful children with my wife!

First: I hate Bill Brasky.. but I respect him!

Guy At Bar: Are you talking about Bill Brasky? I know Bill Brasky!

First: Then let me buy you a round!

Third: Hey, easy, Hank, easy.. To Bill Brasky!

Together: Bill Brasky!!

Fourth: Did I ever tell you about the time Bill Brasky showed up at my daughter's wedding? You know my daughter; she's a beautiful girl.

First: I tell you, I'd like to have sex with her!

Fourth: Well, Brasky shows up.. and you know he's a big fella.

Third: Goes about 7'8", 530.

Fourth: Well, he's standing right between me and my daughter at the ceremony. He's got no right to be there, but he's drunk and he's Brasky! Well, long story short: the priest accidentally marries Brasky and me! [ the guys laugh ] Off! Off! Off! We spend the weekend in the Pocono's - he loves me like I've never been loved before!

Second: Best damn salesman in the office!

Together: Bill Brasky!!

Third: You know how Brasky served three tours in 'Nam?

Fourth: Uh-huh!

Third: Well, I'm in Corpus Christi on business a month ago, and I had this eight-foot tall Asian waiter.. which made me a little curious, so I asked him his name, and sure enough it's Ho Tran Brasky!

First: To William Robert Brasky!

Second: Oh, yeah!

Fourth: Hey, you ever go camping with Brasky?

Third: Many times.

First: I went camping with Brasky, his wife, and his daughter Debbie!

Third: Debbie Brasky?

First: Debbie Brasky. She's 7-years-old, goes about 3'5", 55 pounds. So, I'm in the back of a pickup with Bill Brasky and a live deer! Well, Brasky, he grabs the deer by the antlers, looks at it and says, "I'm Bill Brasky! Say it!" Then he squeezes the deer in such a way that a sound comes out of its mouth - "Billbrasky!" It wasn't exactly it, but it was pretty good for a deer!

Third: That's Bill Brasky!

Together: Bill Brasky!!

Fourth: I once saw him eat a whole live chicken.

First: His favorite movie is "One on One" with Robby Benson.

Fourth: Bill Brasky once gave me a videotape of him having sex with my wife, and it was the most beautiful damn thing I ever saw!

Second: I have that tape!

Guy At Bar: [ turning around ] So do I!

Third: To Bill Brasky! A ten-foot-tall, two-ton son of a bitch who could eat a hammer and take a shotgun blast standing!

Together: Bill Brasky!!

Big Booming Voice: [ from extremely tall figure in upper camera angle ] Did someone say Bill Brasky?

Together: BILL BRASKY!!
