914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Camshaft choices....

Posted by: MikeM Aug 10 2019, 08:19 AM

Hi all....well it looks like my top end refresh is turning into something more!!
I need a cam and lifters for my rebuild. It will be a 2056 with D Jet.
What is the latest thinking for that combo? RABY is too spendy!!
Thanks

Send your old one to Elgin Camshafts. They can regrind our old cam and lifters. They offer a performance grind for D-Jet.

I started using Elgins back in about 1988.
Always a? good experience and product.
The 2.0L in my 914 in the garage has an Elgin cam in it.

I believe the 2056 with the original FI is the way to go. I wish I had a 73/74 2.0 just to be able to do that build. Good luck and enjoy it. beerchug.gif

Eglin is a fine choice.

Another way to go is the FAT 440MP. It's a little more aggressive than the stock grind, but still works well with D-Jet.
