I was going through an old photo album and ran across a photo of my first Porsche a ‘67 911 that was my daily driver in college back in the mid-80’s. Since than I’ve owned (8) Porsches....I regret selling some. I find it interesting to hear other members Porsche stories / history.....so let’s hear yours.

'74 914 2.0L White - My present and only Porsche
As you can see, I have gone full circle from 914 back to 914 over a period of 37 years.
Ansbacher
My dad bought a wrecked 1975 914 2.0 because he wanted to build a 904 at the time and use some of the mechanical elements of the 914. To make this go through his boss, my mom , my name was on the registration (title in Canada). I was 18...
Theoretically, this was my first, but I never drove it neither was it ever used in any 904 build.
Fast forward 22 years, when I moved to California at 40, I bought my current 73 914 barely a month after I had arrived. My wife and kids were still in Canada! I got fed up of the Dodge Caliber rental paid by my employer and got myself a real daily driver
Then a few year later I also got a 74 914 2.0 project car that I later sold to a member here for him to complete.
So that would make three 914s.
But I definitely like the 2.5 from SirAndy
Seven. All mid-engine.
I still have 3 of them.
Six, still have the first one.
I’m lucky to have owned 2 914s. no where on the level as most of you .Just one now . .I’m a broke ass surfer ...
6 total 914's here. Thinking of adding another one for my son. I need to finish my 6 first.
71 914, 1.7 : White - wrecked and parted out

3. Still seem to have the first around.
Only one; 1974 914 1.8, but have had it for 47 years as of TODAY!
That’s funny...
I’ve owned 1 914...
Bought it 48 years ago. TODAY..
You two guys deserve an award! That is commitment!!
At one point a few years ago we had eight, two of which were racecars, all 1970 or older. With other projects underway, that was slimmed down to the current four that we'll probably never sell.
One that I kinda wish we had kept was Der Pickle, a '68 911R-ish replica. Stout, fast and dependable, a blast to drive.
My wife would say we have too many but I disagree
Eleven.

Yup, forgetting.. I had an 1984 911 too.
How about favorites? As actual daily drivers?
For me, the 2008 Cayman is first. The 88 944 turbo s would eat up the miles in a jax to charleston commute in 1992. The irish green 67 911 was a great car while living in CA. And the 72T with rs engine w/webers was a lot of fun.
0 only have a !973 914
Just one! .... 1973 914-2.0 "914S" .... but for 46 years now as 2nd owner!
.... Resto project interuptus:
.
Oh-oh! does the body shell of the `74 914-2.0 I got for repair parts for my `73 2L - where 2 go in for my resto & only 1 working 914 comes out, with the remaining shell bits?
.... or the twins:
.
If so, then two!
.
Maybe coming up on two/three - if/when we get a Cayenne as a tow vehicle for our restored vintage 1960 Avion T20 trailer (similar to Airstream)!
- something like this 2006 955 Titanium Edition Cayenne S that we looked at getting in the paste-up below - but with a newer 2008-10 957 or 2011> 958 or 2019> Cayenne:
.

It’s very cool to see everyone’s list....mostly early cars and not many late models. I had my ‘13 991 for two years and couldn’t wait to get rid of it. It was large and felt very disconnected from the driving experience. The ‘08 Cayman is the total opposite.
