Going to have my gas tank cleaned and coated. I'm guessing the silver colored washer shown in the picture is the bottom of the strainer / screen? How to remove it? Its stuck in there pretty good. Can I pry out with a small screwdriver or grab with pliers and pull. Didn't want to get too crazy on it and damage the adjacent threads.
Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Unless you are trying to save it grab it with anything & pull, Id use a utility knife to get under it

They melt quickly when heat is applied with a butane torch. But since it may harbor fumes you'd need fill the tank with water first. beerchug.gif

Thin screwdriver under the lip to pry it free will work as well.

They're not expensive and I assume you're getting a new one for your clean tank, so pry away. My old one came loose pretty easily. You could also try a screw extractor to break the ring loose.
