914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Window regulator conversion

Posted by: tracks914 Aug 4 2003, 09:56 AM

I just bought a couple of '73 window regulators for my '72.
Holding them up to the door I see they are not just bolt in replacements. Does anyone have a break down diagram or good picture that shows the proper installation and hook ups for installation.
Tx

Edit:
Actually I would be happy to see a couple of pictures of someone's doors with the door panels off (windows up and down) so I could get an idea of the angles that the newer regulators go in on.

I had this problem when I replaced a door on my race car (1973) with a door from a 1970. I finally cut the center section of the door (part with mounting holes) off the damaged door and then cut the replacement door to match and weled it in. Was a small pain in the ass but I got over it. Good luck.

This is usually acomplished by replacing the early doors w/late.

I guess I will have to get out the old protractor and figure this one out for myself. It was something that I thought most owners of older cars had already done. dance.gif confused24.gif
