This server goes down about as much as a sorority.. oh never mind...
I just built the new DNS server.. the backup DNS server obviously didnt work.
I promise... you wanted me to rebuild the new DNS/Email server.
B
Brad,
hilarious - every time the server 'goes down', the alert goes out at PP.
it's either bad publicity ("jeez, their server went down") or great pr ("goddamn, they have some serious 914club junkies over there!")
jbb
I dont F-ing get it. The backup DNS I added 2 weeks ago should have covered for me while I rebuilt the box. Thank god it went quickly.. and the first thing I did was get the network card installed DNS up and running.
B
Andy.. what is the IP address for all914.com ??
B
Yeah.. it kills me. People cant wait 15 minutes for us to get it back up and running.
The problem is: I didnt take the site down.. its YOUR ISP that doesnt pick up the DNS.
B
Nah... something else was wrong.
I use Time-Warner here (one of the largest in N.A.) and someone in California also couldn't get to it.
I RDCed into work (Sprint) and surfed out through the T-1 and it couldn't see it either.
yep - that's the number on Karl's syringe
huh?
Karl... you went thru all that to "see" the site ?? You are crazeeee lol
It scares me that the whole world cant see the site when my home server goes down.
B
I was "working" on the PC at the office remotely and didn't want to have to get out of RDC to check the site... I already had the browser open.
I'm not that crazy... just a little.
karl,
kidding ya man - like i said 914club junkies
This will become the primary DNS for the cage..and I will run the secondary here at the house.
B
Yeah... well I tried that with the NT server... but somebody shut off the primary DNS...
B
The space shuttle had "redundancy", it still blew up.
This might cause a problem for those trying to get to the secondary DNS.

Your zone on your primary doesnt have a record for the backup DNS
Here are some other issues I see. Check out the site below, it is mighty useful for showing problems with DNS Setup.

O yeah NASA.....mm versus inches.....geez, rocket science.....
OK.. run the test again. I'm getting closer.. but dont know what else to "correct".
I rebuilt the box last night and forgot to ad your servers.. it was on the old box.
B
Look betters, though I havent pulled a fresh copy in quite some time. Have you added my secondary DNS IP to the server list so i have permission to pull the records. What OS is this, win2k?
This used to work, but doesnt now. Thats a good thing for security.

*** Can't list domain 914world.com: Query refused
So I need 64.62.137.153 to be added to the list so I can pull the records.
It is on the list...
Thanks for your help on this. It feels like I have 3 full time jobs.
