I posted a message about upgrading my 1.8 and the replies I had said to "stroke" it, dual carbs, etc. I would end up with a 2056? Where can you find information about AX and class requirements/rules for a car with this type of engine modification. I am a real rookie on AX and don't have an idea where to begin looking. Thanks!

Lie ! Often and consistanly

Much depends on who you're running with.
SCCA would put you in FP ....if ya don't lie.
A stock 2.0L with carbs goes into CSP.

To be "legal" in CSP, you could go with a 1mm over bore. The cam needs to be stock.

In our local PCA, you would be in "2.5L" class.
In the PNWR, GTU.

Engine mods will always bump you up to a class where you don't want to be. You'll find guys there that have spent money on suspension and motors. Get the rule book from what ever sanctioning body you're gonna run with before you start spending money.

The SCCA book costs 25 bucks, AIR. Punch SCCA into your search engine. Local PCA regions usually have web sites with rules available for AX (if they run em').

RD.. let us know who you want to run with (SCCA/PCA)

The rules are slightly different... but you can have a car legal for both.

Yup. Step number 1, as always, is to RTFR. Read The Rulebook.

Usually, engines with increased displacements will wind you up in the "anything goes" types of classes. You'll be about a mile behind until you start spending cubic dollars on the ride... After you get a lot of autocrossing experience, of course!!
