Hi, I need some guidance concerning rust repair around the jack ports on both sides. It is pretty extensive and can be found about one foot up from the ports. How do I get to it? Do I have to drop the engine?
I appreciate any suggestions.
How are the rest of the "Longs"? Take some pics to show us how bad it is.
Brad Meyer sells a clamshell kit to repair the longs if they are rusted out.

Can you post pics? By "up from the ports" do you mean from the jack receiver to the back of the car, or forward to the front?

If you mean up the inner wheel house behind the quarter panels that will be challenging. I recommend removing the engine before you start, and having a good look around at all the frame/firewall area.
