914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Oil Leak Question

Posted by: Rob Ways Sep 4 2003, 10:45 PM

With a loose Oil Breather (the wire clamp), how much oil can leak and where? I have oil on top of my engine and a fairly good leak on the front side underneath. I need to figure out if I need to look for more oil leaks (ie oil pump). Thanks. cool.gif

Its the breather. Promise. Snag the bail clip from your other engine and install it.

Its loose too. Dad's car is tight, but I'm not messing with it. I'll be visiting Rich tomorrow. Need anything? Also, is Tony booked or what? I was hoping to get a CB before the next GGR AX but he's hasn't gotten back to my email. Do think he might be able to squeeze it in?

He is at Thunderhill right now for 2 open track days. He might have gotten back this evening. I was at Richs today. Missed your call while I was at WEVO. You have a new gasket and their was nothing wrong with the actual breather. You just need a good bail clip.

OK- I'll get one and install it.

I just sent you an email at brad@all914.com regarding adjustable rear drop links for a stock swaybar. Can I avoid pulling and mailing the pieces??

THANKS.

Cavwpguy, try bending the bail clip to tighten it, sometimes you can salvage them and they will work out wink.gif

Yeah.. that is what I did with the current bail clip... it might have lasted a week before it was loose again.

Yes there is........but as you probably know..you can't take metal back and forth to many times because it is weakened and will break....but yes those hold on very Snug!
