I'm a fairly competitive cyclist and triathelete. I plan to compete in the Florida half Ironman and I should be able to qualify for Hawaii this year. I just need to keep consistent with my training which I seem to be having trouble with right now.

I like lots of stuff. Windsurfing is my absolute favorite thing to do, but I also ski, golf, rollerblade, swim, play soccer and run. I'm starting to train for a 1/2 marathon in the fall. I'm hoping to win my age group, but I dunno if that will happen. Being active is good!

not a sports guy, i think watching sports is utterly boring.
and sport fans are usually just loud, obnoxious and rude.

if i want loud, i'd rather go to a good show.
if i want to get drunk, i'd rather do that with a bunch of friends.


having said that, i do like to play "Tischfußball" (also called "Kicker") ...

Guess I'm sorta like Andy, I'm not real big on watching.

Although I do watch the Tour De France each year.

But to "just do it" for me is mountain biking and road biking. Pedaling a dirt trail with a nice flow thru the woods is bliss.

Fondest race I did was 24 Hours of Rocky Hill in Smithville, TX.

Those Texans never knew what hit 'em!

Does "sport" require much physical activity???

I decompress by raising the sails and hurtling along silently at 6MPH in my sailboat. Once in while a Pelican flys by and we'll throw him a breadcrust. Takes forever to get anywhere.. but the fun is in the ride.


My friend is a "Pirate Re-inactor".. we go out with him on his ship and light off real cannon's, muskets, and my favorite, the BLUNDERBUSS..

occasionally, a cannonball might find its way in front of the blackpowder.... "no Mr Coast Guardsmen... I have NO idea how that chunk of cliff on Angel Island fell off......"

Yup, run during lunch, go shooting sometimes. Also bowling, swiming etc. Lots of stuff really, but my favorites are going for a run each day and then once in a while setting aside a day to just shoot up targets.

Running, Biking, lifting, tried my first triathalon last year and boy does the swim portion suck ass! I nearly drowned (I'm not kidding). Because my run and bike portions were pretty fast I managed 51st place out of 550 people on my first Tri. The swim is so hard for me that I may never try another one again unless I improve my swimming performance radically.

Here's a shot of me running and finishing my first triathalon. Making up some time from a very bad swim portion. This was just a short "sprint" course and was quite fun. Normally I just compete in running races. I have new found repect for Tri athletes! They train like mad people!!!

All others pale...

Although I do like watching donkey baseball (all players ride donkeys) and combo sports such as bullfighting/football. Those guys in helmets and pads running away from a pissed off bull are funny...

Those regular sports attract too many crazies - guys with blue faces and such....
