Ok. A few people have finally seen in my signature that I want a Bradley GT. Where can I find one?
Dunno, but I know where you can find an MGB.
I see them on Evilbay frequently.

My price is down to 7,950. Details are on craigslist. Colorado is far though.
Fully restored. Can't afford it as a gift. 8,000 bucks is a lot for a college student to spend on a gift to his dad.

I have seen a few around locally, Chris. I would suggest attending some of the VW events coming up - VWs on The Green, the Bug-In, and talk to the Bradley owners that show up about where to find one.
There are several bodies in a guys yard about 60 miles from me. They are new, uninstalled on a pan as there are no good pans here in this state. There is junk stacked on them. There is junk everywhere in the guys yard, and a 904 (?) style kit car in the field with sheep running around. I asked about the 904 body once. He told me $ 125.00. He told me he did some work for a guy and he couldn't pay him so he took the stuff as payment. I was going to come back with a trailer but other this came up. (like work, winter, etc.) Everything is probably under the snow now. But if I get out that way I'll shoot some photos.
Check my restoration I did back in 97:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/vwheadsonly/
go to photos, then kit cars(on the next page).
Here it is with 50s on the rear.....
I yanked the 1641 and am building one of Jake's 2316 ANIHILATOR
cammed engines to go in it for the drags.
Don
I have a neighbor who has one on the side of his house that is most likely for sale but it too is in California. Actually, it maybe the Sterling model and not the Bradley after all. I liked the Sterling much better than the Bradley, it was sleeker and longer. Sean 914v8 had one too down in San Diego but I think his is a Sterling also.

The MGB will be a gift to my father. |
A couple of years a go I saw a primered body sitting outside near a house out in the country. I kept wanting to stop by to see what it was. Then someone here started talking about the Bradley GT and then I knew what it was. Next time I went by it was gone. I was told that the home owner's son started to build one and then lost interest. Then it was sold.

I first saw it in the movie DeathRace 2000, with David Carridine
and Sylvester Stalone. Excellent cult movie, but not politically correct!
I wanted one then and finally got one in 96.

Diggin' the new avatar Mike!
My father has a Bradley gtII that he wants to sell for 4,700 (he may come down). It was built on a '78 bug frame and has the 1600 fi engine, white exterior (never painted) white interior black carpet. The previous owner got a special tag for it for smog exempt which it does not need as it has all that on car and actually runs very well (only vw I have seen that does not leak any oil) This car is in Porterville Ca. and you would need to provide shipping. Let me know if interested. By the way the yellow car pictured a few posts up is a gtI. My dads' looks somewhat different as it has the gull wing doors, pop up headlights.

The GTI has the gull wing doors also, I just don't like them.
I try to drive it when it isn't gonna rain, but have gotten caught in
the rain without them....
They are a $%&* when you are trying to get into the car and, IMHO
they make the car look like a dog- .
Whilst the Bradley GT was loosely copied after the Ford GT40(hence
the name Bradley)
the GTII was loosely based on a Ferrari 512.

Does anyone want a mold for a dune buggy body? Not the body, the mold to make the bodies. I have one leaning up agaist the back of my garage..
There's one down the street from me at a body shop up on a display stand in their lot. It's been there as long as I can remember and I don't think it's ever moved. It puts a semblance of a smile on my face every time I drive by. I've asked myself a hundred times "I wonder if it's for sale?" but I have never stopped to ask.

Hi Chris
I wanted a Bradly for the longest time....till I got up close and personal... The fit and finish of all 3 Bradly's I've seen close, left room for improvement. The trunk and doors were ...uhm....odd.
Don't get me wrong, it can be done rite, but the amount of work needed, and of course the usual unexpected costs, make me think that is why so many unfinished kits are for sale....
Personally, I rather do another 914, at least the realy good ones are getting over $10K now.
You gotta think about the resale value with any project car.
I hope you get what you want, and it works out for you.

JESUS H CHRIST. Those shells are in horrible condition. And like I said. I would prefer a GTII. And I think the kid posing in the picture actually owns that car. So I'm DEFICATELY NOT buy that one. He looks like a complete douchebag. And I'll bet the engine is in terrible shape form "street racing." I know mine is. And WTF is a puma? A pantera wannabe? |
Whoops. Sometimes my hands just wanna do all the talking.... Yeah, baby. Any cute girls out there in 914 land?

No easy answers. Only clue you get is that it uses a VW chassis and a lot of folks think it looks better than the Bradley. |
I googled Puma. I stand corrected. Not a pantera wannabe. A 912/SAAB Sonnett II wannabe. KEEE-RAP! And there are two dozen different Pumas out there to compound it.

I'm gonna say this, fully expecting to get laughed off the block, but I put $6000 in the restoration of mine......... |
You don't have to!
$2000 engine
$1500 car
$1000 tranny
$1000 tires and rims
$500 incidentals
Do the math........that doesn't even cover the costs of all the tools
I had to buy ,since some asswipe stole my toolbox as it was
being shipped back from Germany. I had irreplaceable ones TOO!
I wanted it since I was 14, and I got it.
What do you do with YOUR $$$?
Don
Oh, I believe you spent the money, Don, just hard for me to believe anyone would spend that much on a Bradley. But that's just me. You've always wanted one, now you have one, and that's fine.
