Just got off the phone with Kevin and the tow truck just dropped off the car with some damage but not too bad. The kid had dumped in about a mile away in a powerline access road.
Kevin says tell everyone "Thanks for the support". Yeah, he was sooo effin happy on the phone.
Geoff
There is not enough emoticon space to post how happy I am!
WOO HOO!!!
Even the guys in my avatar are f-ing happy!!! ha ha!
That is AWESOME news..... Hope the damage doesn't take long to fix.
Maybe he can get some new aftermarket parts to repair with.....Didn't they blow the engine and it now requires a brand new carrera engine?
Great news.
Now we gotta talk him out of "terminating" all the kids in the area.
Real Cool !! Glad to read that...
Kev, get that battery switch OR get it up on jack stands (like most others )
Awsome !!!!!! I hope the damage isn't too bad.
I'll have a beer and celebrate for you tonight.
Kevin

I also hope you found the kid that took it.
I had my house broken into last year on sept. 07.
It is a shitty feeling when your property gets taken.
Best of luck, Dave
Bet the little snot-nosed kid got frustrated with the tranny, haha. Glad to hear it's back...maybe he did kill the tranny or motor..."hello insurance company, I need a new (911) motor and tranny" I'd wouldn't know what to do if someone stole my car! Glad it's safe again.
Great news!
I'll take a couple of colds ones tonight just to celebrate!
Marc-André
"hello insurance co?". "the car was only badged as a 2.0, it has a 2270 and it's broken". kidding, no insurance fraud for me. i will not sign off until all potentials are noted though.
kevin

THAT WAS HIS TO BEGIN WITH!!

Good news, Kevin. I think I'll go over to the Moon River Brewery and have a couple of cold ones, right now!
I'm using the jack stand policy at the moment, but I've got to get it back on the ground soon.
Mike
Hi Kevin,
Happy day! I better go post the good news on a few forums that I posted the bad news to earlier. Congratulations! Tonight I will hoist a few Guiness stouts in your general direction!

That is Great news!!! 1 word for you: LOJACK!! I personally have better security, but I don't recommend it: it DON'T run! no one tries to steal a car on jacks!
I'm glad you got your car back!! now to beat the snot out of the punk!
woo hoo on getting the car back....
now findout who did it, don't press charges, but later, about a year from now, maybe he could have an accident...

Glad you got your car back Kevin. I can't imagine your frustration when you found out it was stolen. I think I would be counting days until that little shit turns 18.
All right, Kevin!
I just popped open a Bridgeport IPA to toast your good luck...cheers!
That's fantastic news!!! I hope the damage is easily repairable.
Anybody have any experience with lojack? What is the cost? How effective is it?

Thank God! I was so pissed last night. Great news to read today.
What kinda damage?
Eric
Thats great glad to hear u got it back.....
Congrats on getting the car back! Great news. I'm wondering what the options are for individuals to get fingerprints and check them to identities? We see it on TV and the Movies, is there a company out there that will check and sell you the name of the fingerprint person?
Here's a pic of the car. Kevin should have it running again on Sunday hopefully.

Speaking of LoJack.....
got one installed in my family van....kinda nice secured feeling, knowing you should be able to find it if it ever disappear
....but jexus, i haven't tried it....for the heck of it! It's supposed to be good...i'll let you guys try mine .
....just steal the bitch and i'll call...oh, what's the number, dear?
j
Glad to read you have the car back. Be sure the car is as is was. Don't rush into settling with your insurance adjuster. Invite him over and be sure he takes lots of photo's. Give him a ride in the car. Then have him drive it. Make sure the car doesn't pull, run, or shift any different than it did before it was stolen. Spend some time with the gay. If you have problems related to the theft later it is nice to have an understanding with him.
Great news Kevin!
A guy I used to work with had his brand new Toyota pickup stolen from his driveway once; it had LoJack and the police recovered it within a couple of hours, and very minimal damage.
LoJack used to be $500 though AND I think had a monthly/annual fee. But I think their gimmick was they'll pay your ins. deductible if the car isn't recovered? It's been a long time since I looked into it, but it might be worth another consideration.
Note to self - no more keys left in the garage.
Speaking of alarms. Besides lojack, do people have alarms installed on their 914s? Are they worth it? I always figured that if someone wanted to steal my 914 that they would just flat bed it away.
Yeah, I sometimes have been known to leave keys in the car or nearby in the garage But normally I keep 'em locked up inside the house and keep the cars locked and alarmed if applicable, even in the garage. Also at least one of our dogs usually sleeps in the garage.
Back in the early 90's my old blue 911 almost got stolen from inside our condo unit garage. It happens all the time. I don't generally believe alarms are worth a crap, but in that case the alarm actually saved the car (it was loud as hell and the car was parked right under the landlord's bedroom!)
Rich 918-S Says..
Ok, so Kevin's car is back, but did Kevin get stolen in return? Howz about an official word, Kev?
bruce
