actually they were all supposed to have 4-speed.
the factory had planned to use a 911 4-speed for the 914s.
they even reserved the production numbers for it. but as far as i know no 914 was actually ever shipped with a 4-speed manual tranny ...

Brian Clearihan in Melbourne has a genuine faqctory 4 speed. It was imported to Oz by the factory for evaluation and stayed here.
