it's a royal pain in butt ...

some people cut a access door in the firewall and get to it from the passanger cabin.
if done well, that'll save you a lot of headaches ...

short of that, find someone with very long and very thin arms ...

Step 1. Cut a hole in the firewall.

Step 2. Don't listen to Clay and proceed with Step 1.

Step 3. I told you not to listen to Clay... now ya gotta put up with the story about how he did it with a suit on (pink liesure suit).

In all seriousness... It's not a job to marvel over but I never found it that difficult. Loop it around the bottom. Make sure you've got the spacer washer thing figured out and put the pulley 1/2 back on. Spin on the nut and tighten. Tightening is probably the worst part.

All that being said... my car has an access panel now biggrin.gif

Or you can build this, and get an AC compressor at the same time.

(geeze.. I get busy trying to find a new job, and I drop in here to find I have been severely dissed)

I DO NOT think it wise to cut holes in something called a FIREWALL. I have seen a 914 burn......

LOL. Clay, you know you're loved when people poke fun at you around here! beerchug.gif

Counterpoint: Cutting holes and leaving holes are two different things. If you make an access hole, make a respectable cover to close it up.

Danny: Nice Pantera. What does it's access panel look like?

Factory. An upholstered interior panel covers a fiberglass(?) removable hatch. Provides access to the distributor, water pump, alternator, A/C and belts.
