914World.com _ 914World Garage _ fuel pump heat barrier?

Posted by: mdwman Sep 15 2007, 10:37 PM

I saw a product designed to wrap around the battery to provide protection from battery acid and to reflect heat. The description said it reflected 90% of radiant heat. Has there ever been a product like this designed for use on the fuel pump? Seems like this would be easier than moving the pump to the front trunk as a remedy for vapor lock on the early models.

It might work, sounds llike a good idea.

You could fab. one, it wouldn't be too hard.

Moving the pump to the trunk is not big deal.

The biggest benefit is installing the steel lines in the tunnel

Heat barrier? For where the fuel pump is mounted up front? Not really needed...
