These tires are fairly new to the market and I waited a few months before buying them to see if some reviews might pop up. Indeed they did, and they were overwhelmingly positive. http://www.autofiends.com/index.php/2008/07/goodyear-eagle-gt-impressions/, http://www.speedsportlife.com/2008/08/25/speedsportlife-tire-test-goodyear-eagle-gt-champ-among-the-cheap/ (porsche content even!). Very affordable tire at $67 per at http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Eagle+GT. This is an "ultra high performance all-season" tire, 195/60/15.
The wheels are Al Reeds, painted and polished.
Onto the porn!
And here's a pic from the Sunriver Festival of Cars this past weekend.

deep six Fuchs are cool - they look great on your car
now go and get your targa vinyl

Heh, we'll see Mark! But the plan is to definitely restore the top to original as part of this effort. Actually I'm going to hang onto the red one since it's in such nice condition, but will be sourcing a nice stock-finish one as well.
Yep Andy, filled in. On the passenger side especially, I can make out where the holes were by running my finger along the base of the sail panel. In the right light, I can just make them out as well. I'm thinking I'll drill new holes instead of trying to exactly target the old holes ~ I'm worried that I'll mis-drill them and make them too big for the clips to fit properly.
Nice. Did you switch the wheels in order to have more tire choices? They don't look that different from the 14's. I'm curious as I hadn't considered different wheels yet..........you know-the originality thing.
TK
I didn't switch so that I would have more tire choices, but because I just really like the deep 6s. But yes, these are 6 x 15s. I'm all about originality too, but am wiling to stray for things I prefer which are easily reversible. I do still have the stock wheels of course.
6 x 15 doesn't provide many tire choices either, actually.
Purty lips...
Very nice looking car.
Reid what was the white 914 in the background? The one with the for sale sign.
CCLSIDEYINYL
Was wondering when someone was going to mention that Craig. 1970 Factory /6, originally Irish Green and now listed on eBay. I got a nice close look at it, PM me if you want to know more.
Very cool
Thanks for sharing and prefect timing too. I got my deep 6s painted and polished back from Al Reeds back in May but I didn't know what tires to buy. My car almost ready so its time to be getting some.
They look great on your car
Your car looks really nice. I like the matching roof. I think it makes the rims stand out even more ! The paint looks nice and glosssssaaaaa!!!!
Are those a "unidirectional" tire?
So how do you like these tires??
Looks slick Nut.
What color red is that? It almost looks like the later year Bahia red...
Yep, Bahia Red. Offered from the factory on the sixes starting in '71.
Oh thats the same color as my 75, which I plan to repaint soon. I am debating painting the roof and my rear spoiler...
Do you know what prep goes into painting the roof?
Painted roofs look like crap.Don't do it.They look even worse when they peel.
Your car looks awesome - painted top and sails...I say keep it however if you have issues with how the holes were filled....
For those purists who think that original is sacred... too bad.
I want that 3.0 CS coupe parked next to your car at the show....
It's a very nice looking 914!
15x6's look very nice.
How do they look today, 2 years later? Current pics may be in order here.
