I received this car in trade on April 25, 2010.
This car is VIN: 4742918753
Definitely NOT an LE Creamsicle, though the model year & factory color make it seem plausible. It is however, on it's way for you to make it a replica PO already applied the orange Porsche rocker decals.
I know little about this car, other than It was originally a So. California car. It moved to Nevada and then came back to California. I have been given paperwork that has passed with this car, including the original window sticker. Per http://bowlsby.net/914/CanAm/, in the USA 2.0L cars were models 473444 and 473544. The original window sticker that came with this car says it is a model 473444.
I have driven this car a few times and it is an easy fun driver.
Feels like it needs wheel balancing after driving it on the freeway, however.
It had a good head gasket seal leak, but I got that fixed. The mechanic told me there is still some minor oil leakage from the push rod tube seals.
I don't know if the odometer reading is original miles, but it might be, in which case it is very low mileage.
The body is straight but has superficial rust in areas.
The paint, if original is in OK shape. Looks great from 10'.
The interior is very good, but not perfect.
Plumbed for AC but missing the compressor.
The current wheels seem to be basic VW steel wheels.
Tires are standard thin steel-belted tires with good tread.
This car is totally road worthy as-is, but could use some TLC.
My primary 914 6-cyl conversion needs an engine rebuild so, this poor 914 stepchild must go to a new home.
Asking $6,000.
Price reduced to $5,500 $4,500
(All other reasonable offers considered.)

FWIW-I plan to also post this car on Craigslist & The Samba.
Now listed on thesamba.com here:

Aimed my camera under the car this morning. Here are the belly shots.

What more do I need to show?
Does no one want to make me a reasonable offer?

Please someone buy this car
I just found the original owners manual & maintenance guide for this car, since I moved.
Seems to be a slight error in the serial number writing though
The plate on the car reads:4742918753

buy this car please
Try posting on ebay. Even if it doesn't sell, you get a lot of exposure for a small listing fee. Or, if you really have to get rid of it, start bidding at 99 cents with no reserve and let the games begin. Good luck, Mark
I really need to sell it. I have nowhere to park it long term. I've got it at the office, but I'm under pressure to move it.
I'm not emotionally attached to this car. I've put in only money for transfer of ownership, a main seal replacement, some gas & some oil.
I have one lead who is interested for 'the right low price'.
I am not sure where that win-win sweet spot price is. I'd like some cash to put towards my 6-cyl engine rebuild.
1.7 liter heads and fi...?
I don't have the time or patience for EBAYing.
What you see, is what I know about the car.
I'm told there is a push tube rod seal leak.
I know it shimmies when driving on the freeway.
Drives fine on city streets.
Idles well once warmed up.
The dash top is cracked and there are tiny tears in the seats.
It's not a basket case...we've seen those!
But it needs some TLC.
I just got an offer. It's super low, but I think I'll take it.
SOLD!
