beautiful shots, dan -- your car looks great...
my only thought -- are you getting enough suspension travel running it that low?
Not getting any bottoming at this point. Car has been on Sears point, BW and Th along with AX at Alameda with no suspension bottoming out.
I have had 4 914s and all of them have been this low....with the same basic suspension set up.
Never had any issues with suspension travel.
I realize you have a lot of 914 experience. the car looks good -- very flat. I had my car as low as yours, but ended up raising it a bit when i measured how much (how little) suspension travel i was really getting. car actually feels better a little (not much) higher.

Gee, Trekkor's car looks pretty low to me?
Especially the front end.
No, Trekkor was not braking in the middle of the corner. I was instructing in his car when that picture was taken...he was passed because he has a stock 2.0L6 and Gregs car has a very nice 2.4L S motor that has a 8K redline. Greg was also shlepping around 185#s less weight, and Trekkor is still on the learning curve.

are those metal bumpers welded on?

pretty colors.
brant
Yes, it was raced on a local redneck dirt oval before I got it. They welded everything to everything. It had wire mesh for windows, and 2 pieces of steel welded on as a roof, and big dirt tires. You can still smell the budweiser on a hot day. LOL.
Thanks for the compliments.
The colors were a matter of what paints I could get really cheap when I boult the car. The blue was some baby blue left over from a beetle of my dad's that never got painted, and I intentionally didn't stir it up enough, leaving some of the heavier white toner on the bottom of the can, but I didn't have enough paint, so I bought some green that my former employer had left over from some serv-pro janitorial trucks that he had repaired and painted, $20.00 for that, plus hardener. I wanted bright colors because a team that I had pitted for before I built my car had a silver 911 with a black wing. Well there was 3 911's there like that, silver with a black wing, and nobody could figure out which was which unless they were on the front strait.
I've changed alot of stuff since I last weighed it, it was 1855lbs then, I think it's probably 125lbs more now. keep in mind that there are no mouldings or trim of any kind, the doors are only skins with 6oz. latches, no handles, no latches anywhere else, no lights but an oil light and brake lights, most of the wire harness is gone, etc., etc. It's mostly just a shell with an engine, cage, fuel cell, fire system, and brakes. I'm going to corner balance and align it in the next couple of weeks, then I'll know for sure.
Funny how I'll spend alot of time and money to take 10# off of my car, but I'll be damned if I do anything to take 10# off of my gut.

Wanted to get a shot at Willow Springs before leaving for Colorado, but the new 935-style lower arms I bought from Kanna Motorsports snapped in two with only 1/3 of a lap down when I went out last month That 30 seconds of track time cost me about a grand and, of course, Kanna won't respond to my email asking them WTF they would like to do about it.
Don't buy Kanna Motorsports stuff PERIOD. A couple other items I got required additional machining as well to make them right btw.
But here it is when I picked it up at the chassis shop.
a couple weeks later after wiring/plumbing/etc and firing it up

How come you didn't drive like that when you took me for a spin?
Not exactly a track car, but a picture from an autocross last year.
The following is a copy of a PM sent to this poster....
It aggravates me when a single person posts unwarranted comments.
As I stated in my PM ....let's see some pictures.
After viewing a post that you made, I would like to respond to your accusations of our 935 control arm breaking. A review of our records show no sale of a 935 system shipped to you. If in fact if you did purchase one of our systems, you would have our telephone number which you obviously never used.
Every single 935 system is check on an actual chassis for fitment prior to shipment, so your claim of it not fitting leads me to believe this is classic case of not following directions.
There are over 40 of our 935 systems installed and in use, and not one, to my knowledge has failed due to material or fabrication.
I fail to see any pictures of this supposed failure anywhere on the 914 world site, which leads me to wonder if you in fact did some "backyard" engineering and don't want anyone to see the facts, and just point the finger at us.
I stand behind every item that I make, if there is a problem it would have been corrected if you had put as much effort in picking up a phone as you do slandering people.
==============================
to remove this from Trek's track car pix thread, I instead started a new thread to move this out of here as it will certainly hijack a rather nice race car thread.

Why did many 914 teams paint the front bumpers 2 different colors?
So they could tell the cars apart from a distance
Exactly. That way they didn't risk calling the wrong car into the pits!

The new AX and track day car. A 73 with a BIG 2.7 /4. I found it two years ago on the west side of Chicago. It had set for about 5 years before then. I brought it home and got it running. Due to my job loss at the time I decided to sell it to a buddy of mine. His plan was to make it more of a street car, well he really didn't do much more than rebuild the brakes and a few minor things. I bought it back this past fall. I need to bleed the brakes some more and the carbs need going through, oh and tires. My plan is to be ready by spring to drive the piss out of it. So say hi to Brutus
Pics are from when I found it and got it running again.

That thing will be a missile! Certainly not for the beginner nor the faint of heart!
PS: You'll need at least a moderately sized wing - 68" x 10" cord minimum.

Autox action. Last one is not mine, but a car I was lucky enough to have the owner ask me to co-drive with him for a couple seasons.
I let my 21 year old son drive the 914 at a track cross last Sunday.

Here's a before (2012) and after (2019) of my Schoolbus .....
2012 - Paddock at Summit Point, WV. Nice new and shiney!
2019 - At VIR PCA Vintage Class race with battle scars to show for 8 yeasrs of hard racing.
This is from 1972 at IRP I believe. It was my first 914-6 and second 914. I had a street 914-4 first.
The car was one of the factory cars driven by Bob Hindson when new.I bought it after the runoffs in 1971.
Freddie Baker had the ex Midvo factory car and the two of us banged heads from drivers schools to SCCA regionals & nationals for a couple of years
TBT - September 2004
I had just lapped that Z car at the end of the front straight, after he blocked me at the uphill turn on the previous lap.
It felt so good to pass him under braking despite my car being considerably slower in a straight line.
Autocross last weekend. Not much of an action shot but it is something.
Vir. The Ginetta and i played a long time! Love that car.

Anyone recognize this car? Just got it as a bare shell. Curious if it has any interesting history.
