1972 Porsche 914.
Bought this car in Oct. 2010 and have driven it less than 2k since acquiring it. The only thing I've done to the car since
purchasing it was to get rid of the points. Crane Cams XR700 with PS40 Performance coil was added for smoother idle and response.
Per the previous owner...
"Engine was rebuilt in 2009. Original 1.7L engine was bored and modified to 1991cc. with 2 x twin Weber 40DCF's. New clutch,
brakes, fuel pump, stainless fuel lines, filter, etc. rewired engine compartment, battery moved to trunk, and anything else that
needed replacing!"
No automatic choke on the carbs so it takes a bit of time to warm up. Tires have a lot of life left and the car runs great but
since it has the original tailshift 5 speed transmission, shifts are vague. Common upgrades for pre 1973 914's is to have the
tailshift transmission changed out to the sideshift transmission.
The Bad:
Odometer does not work, stuck at 19719 miles.
No AC, no heater; previous owner took out the heat exchangers.
Wiper does not work, have a replacement motor assembly ready to install.
Minor rust in the trunk by left lens assembly.
Visor center clip is broken.
Does not need to be smogged and registration will need to be renewed soon; expires in Jan. 2012. Asking 3500 OBO for car. Please
text or call five.6.2.six.4.1.one.1.8.1 to set up an appointment for inspection. No tire kickers and no offers for just the
shell.
I will remove this posting when the car is sold.
