Hi All,
Got a problem here at work. When I try to start the car, it cranks but doesn't fire. I can hear a faint clicking sound like a relay. I'm thinking that this is the 'factory alarm' cutting off something. Any Ideas on starting this beast? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Side Note: how much $$$ for a NICE 914 driver? Any cars in particular |

Not so sure I'll get the help I need there. This is a tech question and not how to install neon, a chip, or body kits. |

try the fuel pump relay. Are you hearing the initial 3 second buzz of the fuel pump as it primes?
How much gas is in the car. On my GTI's there were two fuel pumps. one under the passenger side and a "pre-pump" located in the tank. If a pre-pump failed, my cay would run up until I went below 1/2 tank of gas. |

Interesting. I don't think I heard the fuel pump now that you mention it. And, I'm just under 1/2 tank.

You can get teh help on the vortex, there are knowlageable people there, just ignore the children.
Might try a search on "coil pack" over there, they are notorious for that. EDIT, you could also try the Mark III forum in addition to the VR6 forum. |

The coil pack is what I'm worried about. I've already bought 2 or 3.
