Dash lights just stopped working, advice was the switch, just play with it; that didn't work so I changed the switch with one from a 74 (my 914 is a 73) still no dash lights so put switch back in from the 73 still no lights. Any ideas why??

Sounds stupid the know is a rheostat and you have to trun it all the way to the right for dash light brightness and on / off if you have led then there is no dimmer actuation just on or off.
Also check first power/ground at the switch and then behind the gauges. |

Also, be sure that the rheostat winding is intack (looks like a spring wrapped around the end of the shaft).

How about the fuses?
You can bypass the switch to test it, as well. --DD |
