Hi everyone,
I make the 911R parts for the 911 guys, AR Concepts. I was asked by a few people now to make 911R style tail lights for the 914. It's a lot of work to get the first set out so I'm asking before I start. What do you guys think? Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Mike Swanson http://members.cardomain.com/911r_parts |

Cool idea... it was discussed here a while back. My guess is you'd have a few takers. I'm building a GT clone and like someone who's building an R clone... it wouldn't be correct with those lights.
Depending on the price and how they looked installed I would think you could sell a few. |

I never cared much for them even on the 911 where they are correct. Pretty sure I wouldn't buy them for a 914 where they're not correct. But that's just me...

Don't care if they are correct, but don't care for the look. I would not buy them for a 914.

I kinda like the look. Then again, I also like slant nose 911s just because their different. I can't say I'd buy a set as I'm too cheap though. CSOBONE member!
Judging by the trends on this board, I think if the type R lenses were made red with a chrome background or mabe carbon fiber then they would sell. Maybe a little led or purple neon to add a bit of bling too. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) |

those are way kewl! it would depend, of course, on price, but those are awesome lookin'! i have often thought about ways to modify the taillights ala "outlaw" style.

If they look like the Photoshoped lights pictured here and are of very high quality, I'd get a set.
Quality is key. |

Thanks for all the replies!
The photoshop job does look allright. From a design standpoint it would be how far to recess the lights and how far apart. The 911 light has alot of plan view so they kind of staircase around. The 914 light is pretty flat and wide, so they would be a little farther apart or it might look odd. As far as weight goes, a complete lamp weighs under 3/4lb, stock 911 lamp weighs around 4lbs. If I get a taillight lens I'll make a quick prototype and post pictures. |

I just had a look at your website (link in your signature) and was VERY impressed with your 911R lights. That's the kind of quality I was talking about.
Put me on the list. I'm serious and will prepay if it'll get me a set made. I would like to have them yesterday. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) |

I could go for that look at the right price. Especially if it got rid of some electrical gremlins. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

I'm not interested in the taillights.. But if you could make a front turn signal lens that looks like this but fits the stock housing, I'd be all over it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
