I can't seem to find the thread that discussed temperatures.
What is safe operating temp ranges for oil and cylinders? New car and since it actually has guages I like to know (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Thank you Luke D |

180-225 is perfect.. 225-245 is very warm and will require oil changes more frequently as it heats up the oil and breaks it down faster 250+ is very hot- Shut her down unless you have a pressure gauge and can ensure that you still have atleast 40 pounds of operating pressure. Hot oil is thin oil... thinning out the oil is what spins bearings and wears parts. Oil temps are directly related to RPM and ambient air temps. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EGT between 1000-1300 CHT no higher than 400 |
