My googling can only find one 914 running all black wheels: that awesome black 3.2 at Canepa.
Do any of you guys on here run black front and back? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/dealeraccelerate-all.s3.amazonaws.com-19057-1476226908.1.jpg) |

I have a white 914 that I do not think it would look good with, but I run some matt black on my new Stang. it is all black though. Personally, I think paint, rims, interior....all what you think looks good. Regardless what you have, people will say they like it or hate it. But....they do not pay the bills on the car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I do think any stock rims that are painted black are kinda a fad. I personally do not like OEM rims painted in black. Aftermarket larger ones depending on the car and color look nice. But then, I see Acura, Honda, lots of cars with bright blue rims, neon colors, some are stock rims....guess if it makes you happy, that is all that matters. But for a non black car....someone takes stock rims and paints them black....just get nicer rims in gun metal and save the time. My opinion though

This is my new Mustang, pretty much well tuned and modified with Roush and lots of other parts. I ordered it in black and went with the black theme. First thing I did was rip off the stock rims and tires to get black, but it goes with the theme of the car.
Now, I respect all cars, but they need a theme. Bright neon rims or blue would take away from this car. This Stang works with the black rims, they would never work with my white 914. If I had Fuchs, I would never paint them, but again....I am with a rusting paint job, slapped some Martini Racing decals on it to make it retro racer before I get the entire bod sand blasted and restored due to the bad repaint and rust bubbles. So, again, it is your car, do as you want with it. I have learned you can NEVER make everyone happy. My Roush modified Stang makes me very happy with the power and luxury, comfort and just bad arse muscle car I respect. The 914 takes me back to a simple time....rattles, leaks, noise, no AC and 100 hp, steering and brakes suck...but the most fun I have had since I owned a 914/6 Euro I could not ship back in the military in 1993 after my base closed. My winter beater.....best AWD Jag you can get on the cheap, 3.0 Ford Jag X-Type, just got snow tires on it, new battery, struts, discs, pads...my winter beater. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Thanks Leamon - The guys at Route 66 Classic used to call it "The Nascar Look". I have 5 lug Fuchs on the car now and these are sitting in the garage... I need to get them listed in classifieds. |
