ok, I've got to ask... what is the trick to getting the heads off my 1.7?!
actually I've only tried to do one side... cylinders 3/4... by the oil cooler I got the bolts off... no problem... pushrods and rockers... check,check... no problem broke the seal to the cylinders... no sweat can see light all around and the tops of the cylinders.... but something is still keeping it from sliding off any further... I referenced "Haynes"... it was no help... it said basically "just pull them off"! what am I doing wrong?! is there a super-secret bolt holding on that I am missing? again... everything seems loose, just can't get it the rest of the way... like it's hanging on something (IMG:style_emoticons/default/splat.gif) just slap me with a fish! |

The engine tin on the bottom of the cylinders. It has one screw that holds it to the head.
I've had this exact problem twice. The third and fourth times, I finally remembered that one ****ing piece of tin! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) --DD |

DOH!
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) I'll have to get underneath the engine and get that ASAP! I felt around and thought I got it all... but I must have missed it thanks Dave! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) |
