Greg,
What whels are those? Do you remember the other wheels I had on the car? 16x7 Revolutions, they look similar. I am going to put them on E Bay. I have no udea what they are worth. |

Most race cars in the 70's were pretty boring as far as paint and graphics went. The ability to do wild and imaganitive things with vinyl had not been invented yet. The sharpest of the time (I think) is the Martini paint scheme and a lot of cars are using it today. For my 914 I went with a bright blue with really bright orange numbers and it stands out pretty well.

Just my opinion, of course, but most "grapics" make a car look like shit. Graphics that inhance a cars lines get my vote.
Look at Roger Penske's or Dan Gurney's Can AM cars for examples. The 914 ain't exactly pretty to start with and hanging stuff all over it doesn't help. John, yours is one of the better ones, tho. OK, so I'm old school.....shoot me. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) I've hated Gulf blue & orange forever....maybe longer. Senocco blue & gold is glorius. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) Something more modern?. MaClaren's F1 car. |

that 917 with scallops looks cool. It just seems that it doesn't work so well in 914. I like the gulf theme but i would like to try something else.
I'we been doing graphics to other peoples cars but it seems that i can't come up with any idea with my car. I have my own plotter and i would really like to try something wild this time. Mika |

I used the old Scarab race cars from the '60s as inspiration for my paint scheme. It's a rough paint job but I'm happy with the look.

The Scarab was one of the prettiest cars to ever grace a race track.....it's a matter of taste, I guess. I've been looking at my car trying to come up with something as it's a touch blah.
I'm drawing a blank. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) |
