I took my original visors off and sent them up to Vinyl Specialties in NY. Now granted they are not original looking in appearance, but they do look muchhh muchhhh better than what they looked like before I sent them. I did send them some original style vinyl to recover, but in the end, the cost only came to $70.00 including the shipping. Not bad, They did a good job considering our visors were originally heat sealed from the factory. I'm satisfied, and I thought I'd share the results of their work with anyone looking at their own visors and are wondering what they can do to improve the look. This weekend I made my front Brake scoops on my spoiler functional. I'd seen the brake manifolds from Smart racing but I thought I could make a better looking unit for less money. I made mine from a couple of 2-1/2'' J-bend exhaust pipe sections from Summit Racing. The pipes were $18.00ea. I cut, sectioned, and reshaped them to go up and over the A-arms. Nice tight fit. They may not be perfect but I guess it's better than nothing. Plus it was a lot cheaper than the Smart units. Ron Attached thumbnail(s) Entries on Thursday 5th August 2010

It's been some time, and since then the 6r has developed a rod knocking last fall and I decided to tear her down to do a full engine rebuild. It has taken this long to get all the pieces together because of the economy and an iffffy job situation but now it's going back together. I also decided to involve my grand daughter to give her an experience that 99% of her peers will never see. She really seemed to be fully understanding of what is going on, and is really looking forward to the next step of closing up the case this weekend. Always share your knowledge with a kid. they need the experiences. Enjoy, Ron Attached thumbnail(s) Entries on Saturday 3rd January 2009
I cannot believe it has been a year since I last updated this blog. I hope the economy hasn't stopped everyone's projects. It's been bad here, and gonna get worse but at least I'm still employed. Happy New Year all!!! Ron Entries on Monday 12th November 2007
I haven't posted in a while, but I have still have been working on the teener. Latest mods have been to add a pair of Sparco Pro 2000 seats. I added an access hole to the engine fan belt.I removed the back pad and lined the firewall in German perlon. I made my own custom seat brackets, had them powder coated in Titanium color, and then high lighted the lettering cutouts in signal orange. I also painted a few interior pieces signal orange to give the interior some contrast.Specifically the lower dash trim. Ron biggrin.gif Attached thumbnail(s) Entries on Monday 10th September 2007

Here's a few pics of a custom harness bar I put in the 6'r. Thanks go out to Chris Foley at Tangerine for forming it up. I had wanted one because I also want to add a pair of Sparco Pro 2000 seats. That, the seats, and a set of 5 point belts will round out the interior. The back pad is now history, and the rear firewall will be covered in Real German Perlon this weekend. Just one more step on the long journey. Ron Attached thumbnail(s) Entries on Monday 30th July 2007
I bought this quick disconnect hub kit last week from a place called Tekniq outa Canada. I wanted one so as to make it easier to climb into and outa the Sparco seat on the drivers side. Easy install, horn still works. It comes with a lock. The whole thing was less than 200.00 The kit comes pre-setup for Nardi-Personal wheel patterns, and since I already had a Personal wheel on the car,I didn't need any adapter. The kit only adds about 3/4''of spacing to the steering wheel. Pretty cool. Ron Attached thumbnail(s) |
