Just received the attached pics. Now the water lines (and brake and fuel lines and the shift cable) are fully protected AND I have just a little more room in the front! It will be time-intensive to remove the cover on the "tunnel" if necessary, but I really doubt I'll have to do that very often! More work being done re: lowering, corner balancing, alignment, some exterior cosmetic changes, minor repairs etc. Stay tuned, more pics to follow.
Well its that time of the year again! Gotta get in some road time! I'm on the short list at a well-known local racing prep shop to get the cooling hoses re-routed and a few other mods. I was having trouble with scraping of the water hoses and I sure don't want to worry about that!
I decided to loose the windshield decal - prefer the cleaner look. BTW - thanks to Dave D. for the pic from the concours - I was so busy looking at all the cars I forgot I had a camera! In case you were wondering, since my car doesn't have a Porsche engine, it was a "Display Only " entry. I'm considering re-doing the Fuchs to have satin or possibly polished "paddles" like the attached 914/6 wheel pic. What do you think?
Had a great time today. Big crowd and tons of Italian "trash". My car got a lot more attention that my 911 did last year. 914AROO's color got their notice and then when they saw the engine, lots of questions followed. Way too many pictures taken of a huge variety of cars! Attached are a few of mine and some other interesting ones including a F40 that just got back from a 221mph run at Bonneville (salt still attached as it was trailered) and a twin turbo'd "3002ttii". Note the crowd around the blue car and no crowd around the taildraggers (I'm the guy in the 914Club hat)!! Attached thumbnail(s) |
