Spent the morning cleaning, waxing, airing tires, generally getting her ready for a ride to the Red Barn tomorrow to see everyone who shows up. Looking forward to it.

I just got back in town from a long vacation, bit tonight my wife and I finished up the pertronix install and timing. After a little shake down drive, unfortunately Berg still needs some tuning. But, it felt good to drive it regardless.

More electrical work. I need more wire, it should arrive tomorrow.

Works the same as the first one, ignition switch turns on the relay, which powers up the regulator and that gives regulated power to the ESC's. By powering up through the regulator the delicate little ESC's should never have to survive a spike.

Started the breakdown of the engine lid for repaint/refurb. First step .... "de-nutting" of the lid grill. Sure...it sounds bad, but no engine lids or grills were injured in the "de-nutting" process.

Preparing for more wires. Josh tells me that he is almost finished with the Arduino board (has to keep making changes at my request) , but he is mostly complete. When he brings it over next time I will have about 10 more wires to run for the sensors and power. I can't wait because this is one huge Elephant Bite and will be something else unique on the car.

After nagging the poor guy at Auto Atlanta to death for nearly a year, their reproduction muffler for the 75-76 2.0 finally arrived from Europe. Let me tell you, it is SWEET. The old muffler (winner of the Bastardization Award) sounded like a cow standing in a pond passing gas (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) The new stainless muffler has the perfect sound for me. I did not want a "sport" muffler... I leave those to the teenage kids driving their Honda's. This is as close to stock as I can remember. Thanks George!Attached Image

Yesterday @Abes914 a local buddy dropped his car to me for various items he need on his car. He got 99 boxster as service car (well so I have space in my garage).
Few weeks ago, we did a compression test on his car, #1, #2 and #3 has around 150 compression and #4, the needle of the compression gauge hardly move.
Abe is already trying to check used engines but we waited till we do a valve adjustment.
So today, I was able to adjust #4 intake and exhaust which is totally no movement or very tight. Now it has 150 compression and #1 to #3 has 148 and 149.
Since engine is good, I went ahead to removing the HE and muffler and tomorrow going to install his 1.7 headers (Heater box removed) and triad muffler.

Working on the wiring for the Gurney flap. Running a circuit from the bus bar in the fan box to the servo in the wing. I'm trying to get it done with only 2 connectors. One at the servo and one at the base of the mount of the wing.

Attached Image

Picture shows the 3 wires coming away from the bus bar and out of the fan box. I thought that hiding the wires going up to the wing would be a problem but I believe that I have found an excellent path to cover it.
The Gurney flap will be controlled through the arduino board.

Done with @Abes914 triad muffler installation. Test fitted a Minilite 15x5.5 with 195x60 tire and it is rubbing inner fender lip of passenger side. Maybe need alignment and try to test fit driver side tomorrow also.

@ndfrigi Dang those minilites look good though! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)
The passenger side is usually tighter on clearance, hopefully you can work iout the tire rub (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Hi Eric @eric9144 probably Abe’s car just need alignment specifically for camber.
Abe is buying the set of minilite from me since I will be using the 15x7 VTO wheels.
If those 195x60 on 5.5 minilite wheel will not fit Abe’s car, I will just install those tires to my 15x7 VTO since it fit nicely on my 74 Bahia red with a slight pulled fender.

Attached Image

below pic is a comparison of the 15x7 VTO and 15x5.5 Minilite and both has the 195x60 tire

Sunday drive

Car runs much much better. The car feels tight and stable. Shifting and downshifting is on point. Car feels awesome! And we still have a few more items to do (ok, a lot more items to do).
I am very excited. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Gassed up this morning and took the very long way home.

Yup more on your list to do with the car but little by little and enjoy every improvement(s) with it.

Thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

The gauges were used. Someone had it for sale a h few years ago. Supposedly it was a group buy many moons ago.

There is something similar in the vendor section here. Not sure if they still make it.
