i know i’ve seen other threads of others going thru this with the failed cheap switches. anyone able to source a new German switch? Pelican says they have one, I’ve had good luck buying the Porsche switch, it’s all I use anymore. Typically only about 40 bucks |

I have to replace mine and want to explore my options. Thanks, Clay |

I will post more pictures soon. It requires mounting a drive on the cam like the MFI units used. Wiring loom work and a bunch of other things. I want it to start all the time. Anywhere, just like my 86 3.2 in my old Carrera Bob B |

On what I did last night is drove the car and under hard acceleration I broke either a cv, spline or axle in the driver side. Towed it home. My son thought it was cool though. |

It’s been a busy week back with “Harvey” the 914 (named after the town - Harvey, IL - where it was originally sold)…
- Installed a Pertronix II and associated coil (raised the warm and cold/startup idle measurably which was appropriately dealt with) -Diagnosed a slight hesitation around 3k at cruise as mostly likely being a bad trace in the TPS. Got a new TPS board coming from a fellow 914 World member (thanks @Highland !) and will take care of that asap. - Replaced the drivers side hot air flapper with an NOS one. The previous “new” one (to me) flapper disintegrated leaving me with a constant flow of heat. - Corrected the wiring for my Dakota Digital CHT and am now getting good reading (happily, in the 300-325 range) and… -Tuned up the stereo which is patterned after the similar installation by @bbrock . Quite a bit for a week of messing around and man…it’s fun to do. Oh - and LOT'S of driving it..... |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Yup, took her to a Cars 'n Coffee in Grass Valley. Mostly hot rods but then a few air-cooled guys showed up and we got to chat. They seemed to really like my car. Then my brother and I went to the annual Mel's car show in Auburn. Had to be 200-300 cars all hot rods. I had the only Porsche there. We just parked it and walked the show and saw people looking at my car from time to time. The hot rods were mostly show quality cars. Lots of Gen. 1 Corvettes, and Chevy II Novas and tri-5 Chevys. I have a real soft spot for the '67 Nova and would love to find an original '67 Nova SS in stock trim. It was a great show with all very nice people. The weather was warm but no oppressive.

I rebuilt the Marelli S112 BX distributor I bought off eBay using a kit acquired from PartsKlassik.
Hopefully it will test as performing in spec! |

Well my Bud Mark and I am getting our 74 with the RAT built by Jakes hands ready to get to PMB to finish this car.
This should make a very nice car. Interior BK leather, paint is not bad for over 12 years. I little touch up and paint the trunk lid and inside eng. Compartment. Nice California car with blue plates. It was a converted 6 when I got it. It was a roller Owned by Duc Nguyen before and sold to me from camp 914 Bob B |
