My clutch was replaced about 2 years ago by the PO and looks OK but since the engine is out should I spend the $ and put in a new 3 piece? The flywheel looks a bit worn so I'm thinking a NEW one as opposed to a re surface? Is it nessesary to replace the flywheel bolts [they had no washers...hmmm]?
My budget is getting thin real fast so any advice is welcome. |

Hey Peter,
Unless your flywheel bolts are beat up... no need to replace them. I personally would buy a new lightened flywheel and switch the car over to a 911 6 spring disc and a stock pressure plate. Dont forget: felt washer locking plate pilot bearing clutch fork pivot bushing throw-out bearing B |

I believe it goes into the flywheel with the pilot bearing. You put oil on it and it helps keep the pilot bearing lubed. A used flywheel may very well still have it in there.
