he says he was in a parking lot, driving, and he went to pick up something that fell in his car.... he ended up spanking an island and launching the 2000 ford taurus airborne..... came down, bent some rims, etc and messed up the car pretty tgood..... monday... he is at a junkyard looking for wheels so it can roll..... (meaNwhile, car is locked and secured in said parking lot) Gets a call last night from the Co-Po (Corona Police Dept (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)) a witness reported 15-25 "gangsters" that had flipped his car ('riot flipped' as the witness called it) and busted almost every panel on it.... so... he totals a car... and then gets it "vandalized" i think he wins big time insurance wise no??? so sad, so random, so unheard of- i mean you cnat make that up.... Just thought id share (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) |

Beautiful timing on the "riot roll"! I love it when the big insurance company has to cough up the cake.

So let's see, a 2000 Ford taurus, Current market value on those is only about $1700 or so. It was one of the biggest POS Ford has put out lately. I think my neighbor has one for about $2k. If your friend is interested, let me know and I can see if he still has one. He had 2 of them at one time. Corporate cars that were off lease or something along those lines. He had to replace the transmission in one of them I recall.

A number of years ago I saw the same thing happen to a sea plane pilot. He was half way through his takeoff roll when he dropped something in the cockpit. He bent down to pick it up and the airplane ran right up on the bank of the lake. No harm, no foul. One of the funniest aviation events I have ever seen. Once he shut the engine down and I saw no one was hurt, I laughed for 5 minutes. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)
