Hi,
A friend of mine has a 3.6 that had headers that did not match installed on the motor.. The results were that the ceramic coating in the exhaust port was burned off. Is there a company that could re apply this ceramic coating to his heads? I was thinking that L&N Engineering...or someone else may know of where to get this done... Rich |

Never used Swain tech, but I use Calico Coatings all the time.

That's the third reference to Calico I've heard from people I trust.

Is this a process that would work? I dont know... BTW, this is one of your customers,,for a six... He had the headers put on the car by his mechanic...they were to small, width wise...so the header flange was covering part of the exhaust port....this made the coating burn off... So he is looking at 1400 per head new...or try to find a place to rebuild/recoat them. Rich |

Don't do the heads without the pistons... don't do the pistons without doing the ring lands...
And don't trust a generic coating for a watercooled engine to work on yours.. Its a different world and the coating guys don't understand... |

I would suggest calling Calico or Swain and speaking to their techs to give an evaluation. If they can't fix it, they may have an idea of who can.
