Technically not mine but the work is.
It went to the paint shop yesterday and this morning we went there to put it onto a rotisserie. It won't get 916 bumpers but it will have a big -6 and RUF wheels. This was just after the roof was welded on: Front View of the roof: |

Where do you get a steel roof to weld on if not from an actual 916?

Where do you get a steel roof to weld on if not from an actual 916? If you want an accurate repro they must be hand made. I am considering offering kits but the price will be somewhat north of $2K. We tried to think ahead including how the headliner will attach, and we even went to the trouble of fairing the gutters into the a-pillars on the two projects at our shop. Attached image(s) |

My factory six in 916 dress. Have since then sold the body (bad shape) and used the six parts to do my current conversion.

Chris!! That is badass, nice work.
T.C. - Dan Roots sunroof car is one of my favorites of all time. I got to see it in Seattle at the WCR2008 and fell in love (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) I wish I had the $$ when you sold it. I would have been a very proud owner. Chris more pics of your handywork on that roof! Jim |
